Chapter 4
Brooklyn's pov
________________________Dark.
Darkness surrounded me. I reached out in front of me to only feel cold, hard, concrete floor. I shivered. I curled into a ball and laid my head on the floor.
Pain.
Pain shot through me as I got up and held my head. My hair was soaked in warm sticky liquid. I touched my face to feel the same thing, but it was dry.
At a moment like this, it is natural for someone to cry. I expecting myself to tremble and sob. But I didn't, I was too scared to cry. I was too scared to do anything.
I moved my foot to only feel to being pulled back by something. I gasped and tried to pull to only feel metal sink into my ankle. It took me awhile to realize I was chained up.
"hello?" I croaked. I doubt my voice was loud enough for anyone to hear me but I continued to wait for someone to come get me and take me away from here. That's when I remembered.
Asher.
My sister's.
Dad.
My fear grew stronger as I began to think about my sister's whereabouts and if the were ok. My hands began to shake and I looked around the dark freezing room for clues. But, of course there was nothing but pitch black.
I heard footsteps and the sound of a lock. Light came to the room and I had to cover my eyes from going blind. A figure walked over to me and kneeled down beside me. His warm breath hit my cold face. I looked up at him, trying to recognize who it was. "Dad?"
The man laughed. He came closer, my eyes adjusting to the light I could see he was wearing a mask. He was well built and by the look of him, he looked strong, but scrawny at the same time. If that makes any sense....
"get up." His voice was deep and young. I stood up but collapse after only standing for three seconds. The man sighed and unlocked my chains. I rubbed my ankles in relief. I was about to sprint out the room until he said, "Don't you dare move." as if he was reading my mind. I gulped.
"I've been waiting for you for a long time. I mean I've always had you but I need you all for me." he said. I frowned. "excuse me?"
He ignored me and continued to speak. "Do not be scared. no more pain, unless you brake my rules and anger me. Then you shall be punished and end up like that other girl." He sneered. "Then you should be scared." "W-what girl?" I shuddered. He laughed and reached out to touch my cheek but I pulled away. "Do not disobey me Brooklyn. Let me stroke you."
What the hell Is wrong with this guy?
I let him touch my cheek, my eyes began to burn as tears formed in my eyes.
"Have something to drink dear." He said as he handed me a plastic cup full of water. I gave him a look. "DRINK" He said more sternly.
Just play along Brooklyn. Just play along. And earn his trust.
I took the cup and took sips of it. The cool water soothed my dry itchy throat. It tasted funny, but I chugged it down in less then two minutes. He watched me intensely drink the whole thing. I dropped the cup and heard the echoing of the plastic hitting the floor. I went limp and fell into his arms. I felt him pick me up and began to walk up the stairs into a bright hallway. I tried to move, scream, anything. But my eyelids began to droop and that was the last thing a remembered before I blacked out.
