Two days later, Nate told me we were going to Wal-Mart when I got out of school. I had high hopes. I was finally going to see the outside world again. I asked him why and my face fell when he told me the reason: we were moving to Colorado. I immediately thought of my family, wondering how they would react. I imagined Mom breaking down, my dad, telling her it's going to be okay, my two sisters hugging her. I started to fidget with my ring. I did that whenever I got scared or nervous about something. He then told me that someone had called the police when he was beating me one day. I kept on hoping that they would find me sooner or later. We went to go buy our suitcases and we decided to buy one last thing from the store. He bought a t-shirt that said on the front: Don't bother me and I bought a really interesting book. He paid for it and we went home to pack up.

Half an hour later, we were on the road, leaving Phoenix. I looked back, wondering if I would ever see them again. Nate saw my expression and sighed. He gave me my phone and told me I could listen to music on the way to Colorado. I plugged in my earbuds to my phone, went to "Downloads" and pressed the "play" button before he could change his mind. I looked at the road ahead of me, avoiding his gaze.

There were a couple of times when I fell asleep in the truck. Later on, Nate woke me up, saying that we arrived at a Motel 6. I was too lazy to get up, so he carried me. He checked us in and went to room 103, placed me on the bed and turned on the lamp. I started to shiver. He pulled the covers back and started to adjust me on the bed, then placed them back. My eyelids got heavy, and I fell asleep.

The first thing Nate did was that he got up, changed and then woke me up. "Anna. Anna, wake up." He whispered, shaking my shoulders. I stirred. "Huh? What is it, Nate?" I got up and looked around then at the clock. It was 7:46 am. Nate was already dressed and I forgot that we stayed at Motel 6. He told me he was going to be at the front office getting breakfast and then walked out, leaving me alone to do my business.

The moment Nate left, I turned on the t.v. I flipped through the channels, trying to find the news that Mom was in. I finally found it and the news were on, still on my case. "Thanks to a man named 'John', we've found the location where she's been held captive, but there are no sign of her or her kidnapper. Unfortunately, we don't know where they went. As for right now, this was the last image Angelica was in." They showed an image of me and my blurred out sisters hugging. "We will try to investigate more. If you have any information about them, call 911 or 1-800-MISSING. I am Isaac Johnson, and you're watching 4 TV NEWS . Back to you, Carl." A news reporter said at Nate's old house. A tear ran down my face as I stared at the screen. I covered my face with my hands, crying silently and asking myself when will it end.

I joined Nate a little bit later and got waffles and toast. Nate just stared at me, picking at my food. I sighed and told him I wasn't hungry, even though, inside, I was. I looked down, hoping that the tears won't come back. I suddenly jumped out of my chair and ran off. "Hey! HEY!!" Nate got up and ran after me. I looked back. He caught up to me, yanked me by my wrist and carried me on his shoulder. I yelped, my glasses slipping down.

"NATE!! MY GLASSES!!" I screamed, and all he said was: "I DON'T CARE!!". Feeling the blood rush up to my head, I shut my eyes tight. Help me...anyone...please... I silently begged, hoping to get away from him. I opened them again, but all it did was gave me a headache. Cars were whizzing by us, but none of them stopped. Thinking that this was the end for me, I closed my eyes for the final time and just let my body go limp.

By the time I woke up, we were back at the motel. I was sitting down, tied up, with a piece of cloth stuffed in my mouth. He must've tied me when I was unconscious. Nate came out of the bathroom and said, "You're awake. Good." He sat down across from me, removing the cloth. "LET ME GO!!" I yelled, struggling against the ropes that held my wrists together. "Sorry, but I can't. You tried to escape, and I had no choice but to follow you and bring you back here." He said, smiling as he held up a finger to my lips. I looked at him. He looked back and pushed my bangs to the side. He closed my eyes and took away my innocence from me; what I had forever wanted to keep the same, now ruined by someone I hardly knew. I didn't know what to do. I tried to free myself from his stranglehold grip while I whimpered and yelped in pain. This went on for some time, the burning, the pain ongoing, my pleas heard in the room. He finally let go when he had finished and patted my head. I flinched, tears dried on my face while new ones were starting to form in the corner of my eyes. He got up, changed, then untied me from the chair -he managed to somehow tie my hands and legs to the chair while he undid my clothes-. I looked at the door, desperate to escape now. Nate glared at me and told me if I tried to get away, he would beat me painfully hard. I nodded, shaking.

We were back on the road. It took us a couple of minutes to pack up, check out and leave. I was reading the book Nate bought, titled: Gravity Falls: Lost Legends. Nate turned on the radio and started to switch channels, when he finally decided to stop at 102.7. I had both of my earbuds in, listening to "No more" by NateWantsToBattle over and over again. Nate tapped on my shoulder and I looked up, taking a earbud out. "Did you hear what I said?" He asked. "N-no, sorry." I lowered my eyes. "I said, I don't want you running out like that and having to go get you again, understand?" I nodded. It started to get a bit chilly in the truck. I held the book, shivering. Nate did an eye-roll and turned down the a.c.
