A couple of hours later, we were at another hotel. It got a bit dark. I sighed, looking outside the window. We found a hotel called Hotels 4 U. He got out, closing the door behind him and left me in. A minute or two had passed and I was getting nervous. I saw Nate leave the office and coming back. I got off, leaving the passenger door open then closed it. Nate got his suitcase and I did the same, telling him I needed to use the bathroom, but I had to leave my phone with him, otherwise, he would probably suspect that I called the police or Mom. I sighed and gave it to him, leaving. I used the restroom and headed back out where Nate was fidgeting with the card, trying to get it in the slot. He then noticed me and gave it to me, along with my phone. "You can try to get it in, but it's useless." Nate stepped aside, waiting for me. I slid the card in and the door opened. I placed my suitcase on the floor and plopped down on one of the beds and fell asleep.
l don't really remember, but by the time I woke up, he was already asleep next to my bed. I got up quietly, hoping not to wake him. I grabbed the card that was lying on the table and slowly, very slowly, opened the door, closing it with a soft click. l looked back, afraid, half-expecting Nate to come out. Clutching my owl necklace, I walked off, door after door. Once in a while, I would stop and listen to see if Nate had followed me. Shaking with fear, I started sweating. I closed my eyes, thinking about nothing until a hand covered my mouth, the other arm holding a firm grip on my waist. I kicked helplessly as the being dragged me back. Realizing it was Nate, I let out a muffled scream. Pulling my hair, he whisper-shouted, "Don't make me shut you up, understand?!". I nodded, too afraid to speak. He snatched the card from me and opened the door, threw me on the bed, then started to yell at me for half an hour. Looking down to face me, he asked me, "I told you, didn't I? I told you I would beat you again if you escaped. But I won't.". My eyes widened as he got on the bed saying with a glint in his eyes, "I'm going to punish you more than just beating you since you still won't learn..." before kissing me on the lips. "I'm going to show you what happens every time you try to escape, since beating doesn't intimidate you anymore." He mumbled in my neck before kissing it. I cried silently, tears threatening to come out while watching the horror unfold. After he was done, I looked at him, my eyes wavering in exhaustion and defeat.
"Y-you just..." I couldn't bear saying it aloud. It was too painful. He actually did it -now that I think about it, this was the second time, but he had closed my eyes and blindfolded me so I wouldn't see what he had been doing, even though I had already know what he had done to me...- and that moment I felt filthy and pathetic, even more than the first time. I would never forget that moment. And I would never forgive him...
I took a shower in the morning, trying to scrub Nate off of my body. I wanted the drain to swallow me up, never to be seen again. I sighed, snapping myself back to reality. Nate was already gone, so I had the room to myself. I got out, closing the tap, then quickly dried myself, changed, and left to get breakfast. As I was walking to the office, I had a queasy feeling in my stomach. Flashing images from last night ran across my mind: him yelling at me, getting on my bed and touching me for the second time, though worse than the first, me crying silently, the terrified look in my eyes. I couldn't take it anymore. I wanted to go home, but it was miles away.
I ran back to our room, trying to break the window with my elbow. The glass broke bit by bit, finally breaking and I carefully got in, avoiding any shattered glass, packed my things and had just reached the handle on the door when he appeared, his face red with anger. "WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU GOING?! OPEN THIS DOOR NOW!!" I was trapped inside. The only way out was the door. I didn't know what to do.
"WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU, I WILL MAKE SURE YOU PAY!" He roared, trying to reach the handle through the window. Unfortunately for me, he had reached it and unlocked the door. I backed into a corner, whimpering. He got in, closed it along with the curtains, and started to drag me by the hair onto the floor. The air was knocked out of me as he kicked me in the stomach.
"NATE, STOP PLEASE!!!" I cried out loud, struggling to breath.
"NO!!! THIS IS THE LAST STRAW!! DO YOU HEAR ME?! THE LAST STRAW! PACK YOUR THINGS!! AND WHILE I PACK MINE, THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU DID RIGHT NOW AND LAST NIGHT!!!" He yelled in my face. I scrambled back to my bed, grabbing my suitcase. He got his and threatened to hit me as he walked to the door. I flinched, shaking with fear. Nate started muttering to himself. I caught a couple of words like "she is so useless" and "idiot". I stared at him like an idiot, his grey eyes fixed on his suitcase.
"I can feel your eyes staring at me, so knock it off or else..." He growled.
Obviously still upset with me, he said that we were getting in the truck in two minutes. I kept on hoping he wouldn't yell at me. Seeing my phone on the table next to the lamp. I reached out for it, but Nate saw what I was doing and grabbed the phone first. "You are not getting your phone unless I say so, understand?!" He said through gritted teeth. I nodded, wanting to say no, but I knew what would happen. Two minutes later, we were in the truck, leaving the hotel. For most of the ride, I tried not to think about last night. The way I screamed, him telling me to shut up, yelling at me for half an hour. I didn't know what to do with him. I looked at him, and we locked eyes for a moment, then looked away. I asked for my phone and he gave it to me on one condition, I would use it only for music. I agreed and we shook hands. I plugged in my earbuds and listened to Anna Blue's song "How does it feel?" for two hours straight. Feeling a bit nauseous and dizzy, I decided to take a nap, telling myself that it's going to be okay.
