Hey loves, it's been a long time since I've updated, but I must inform everyone who may still be waiting for more chapters is that I haven't forgotten about this book or the other in the slightest. Motivation can be odd for me, so instead of working on new literature, lately I been busy producing artwork of Lucas & Cristi. I still plan to do more oneshots and eventually start on their official story (Strawberry Vapors) soon. I'm still working on drafts in the midst of art & coming up with new ideas; I haven't abandoned writing completely while I been away. I mainly been around on my art twitter, IG &rp tumblr where I post art, info, & lore about my characters. And in doing so I've gain a bit of a following from sharing my work, which has been incredibly encouraging for me to continue developing my stories.
In the meantime, due to the mixture of personal art and writing of these characters, coupled with the fact that there is a lack of black fantasy characters in the media, I've had people come to me stating how they appreciate to see a black werewolf character who breaks the common stereotypes of black men with more positive representation of dark skinned characters (while I also break tropes/stereotypes of werewolves), but I also have people come to me and said they love to see a black coded werewolf since it's rare to see black fantasy characters anywhere in film or literature. I've always been a lover of the fantasy genre but I wanted to do something different, and I felt it'll be interesting to create a dark skinned black coded werewolf, one who breaks the stereotypes of how society perceives both black men (or black people in general) and wolves -both are considered aggressive, dangerous, ect- but he continuously debunks these stereotypes while also living under the guise of a black man in the human world. Plus, he's in a healthy loving relationship with a black woman; I'm here to tell their story and promote healthy black love, or I can say black fantasy romance. So just the fact that I've been approached by many people who praised my characters and story that imparts an impact on them in a positive way leaves me feeling like I'm contributing something to the world, that what I'm doing is needed for black/poc people to see and absorb. Last year though I knew there was something special because I've been in contact with a producer/writer who saw my characters and brought up the idea that I could get my story made into a movie, which blew my mind. We been in contact ever since then. I also been on the Chicago radio this year to talk about my art as well, so I know things are turning around due to my creations. I've been blessed soo far ❤️
I'll show one of my new illustrations of Lucas here (still using Luke as his face claim). It's a small profile that I'm using for the time being until I make a full ref of him. I got another version where it's colored with a whole scene that show more info but anyone can dm me it ya'll wanna see more art of my characters.
Also art I've gotten of them both with him in his wereform<3
I've got a lot more art of them I've drawn and people have drawn for me, but I'm saving those for people who follow me on twitter or IG or tumblr.
*Under no circumstances can anybody use my art or pictures I've gotten for anything. These are personal characters of mine whom I hold dear to my heart and I'll appreciate it if no one edited or copied what I've done *I do make gifs of Luke James (at the top) but anyone is welcome to use those for anything*
Anyway, I'm hoping to get back to my writing fairly soon.
