8 yrs...

Dreams...

A month later...

Judy and Nick became good friends. Nick would visit her 3 times per week, he would stay with her, they would watch movies, eat somewhere, talk, sing together, etc.

But today was going to be different from the rest.

The country fair came to town last night and Judy thought it would be a good idea if they spent a little fun there. So, she ran to the living room, grabbed the phone Nick gave her in case she felt lonely or in an emergency, and called Nick.

 "Umm, hello?"

 " Nick? This is me Judy... H- how are you? "

 "I'm doing great. How about you?" He asked.

 "I'm doing just fine. Um, are you coming today?"

 " Oof, I don't know fluff... " he said with a hint of disappointment. Judy's ears suddenly looked droopy.

 "Oh, it's - it's okay."

 " Awww... Is Carrots sad because I wasn't going to her house today? "

Just then Judy straightened her back and replied, "No! I'm not sad. I'm ... I'm not sad..."

 At the other side of the line, Nick was snickering.

 "Your ears could disagree with you fluff."

 " Huh, how do you-" Judy was suddenly cut off by an embrace from behind. "Nick!!!"

 While he still held on tight to her, he said, "Hello there Lav. Did you miss me?"

 With her head up looking at Nicks emerald green eyes, she said "yes. Yes I did."

 2 hours later...

As the fox unpacked his stuff, Judy came in and sat on his bed. 

 "Nick, umm... Would you like to go to the fair with me?" 

 When he looked up, he saw the little doe blushing red as rose. Then he looked behind her. He saw a beautiful fair with bright lights and having the sun set behind them.

"Would you?" Asked the little doe again .

"Oh, yeah. Yeah, let's go to the fair." He said .

After they changed they headed out the door and walked to the fair. Holding each other's paw.

Once they arrived to the fair, a flyer caught the young fox's attention.

Singing competition tonight! 

All bunnies are allowed to participate.

After he read this, his ears hid behind his head and he lowered his head. 

As Judy noticed this she asked, "What's wrong Nick?"

" Oh nothing," he said and assured her with a smile across his face, "it's just..."

" What is it Nick? If you want to talk about it here I am."

He then slowly faced her and said, "uh, well. When I was your age I always wanted to sing for big crowds you know. Aaand become a famous singer. "

"Well you do have a wonderful voice Nick. I mean from what I've heard when you shower." Whispered the little bunny swaying side to side, and still holding Nick's paw.

Nick then looked at the other side and snickered. "Oh, Judy. I'm sorry you had to hear that every time I showered at your place."

 Judy then turned to face him quickly and said, "oh, no,no,no. It's amazing Nick. You know you should try out at our annual singing competition!" Beamed the little doe.

Nick soon stopped snickering and looked at her amethyst colored eyes. "Oh, Judy. I wish it was that easy. But predators aren't allowed to become big shots like singers."

As Judy lowered her head she mummbled, " why? Why does the world have to be like this? "

Nick then took his right paw and brought Judy's chin up.

"Its just the way it is Carrots. Even though I do love singing."

 As she gazed into his eyes an idea popped into her head. She grabbed the young fox's right paw, and ran towards the competition.

With a worry in his face he asked her, "where are we going?!?"

" We are going to win that competition! "
