UNEDITED

Of course, you ran to your next classes; allowing your diligent self to fall slack of attendance and participation was not a part of your regular scheme in school. Stumbling into the classroom of maths, a stern look crosses the face of your teacher. They eye you with annoyance, dismiss your presence, and indirectly ask you to sit with a small movement of their head.

You slouch in your seat and release a strained sigh. Those biolights were hidden beneath your jacket's sleeves; the world can go without your discovery for a few. These – lights – whatever they are, can stay with me, the subconscious whispered in the crevasse of your mind. However, small bundles of doubt gurgled in your stomach; how were you going to keep this from your mother? She has the tendency to check all possible patches for self-harm on your body and your previous efforts in the seclusion of those scars never proved to be effective. Your head lolls to the side in thought; your brain was a mess, fear and confusion was an understatement. Maybe I should do my work and then think about the consequences, you thought.

Other students either tapped away on their devices or hosted the occasional feast up the back of the classroom. Cadbury Chocolate, you mused, and Arnott's BBQ Shapes. The previous thoughts were shoved to the amnesiac lockers of your brain as you unwillingly cooperated with your work ethic for the remainder of the school day.

"Ah, fuck me!" An angry, grouched voice reverberated down the street.

You'd taken the liberty of walking home after school.

Unwillingly, of course, but in attempt to make your mother lay off her persistent intimidating demands and actions. You paused to take a deep breath to calm your welling anger and to observe your surroundings to distance your focus of displeasure.

There was something you noted quite easily, the afternoon felt strange. The streets were unusually absent. No regular visits and the inviting calls of your sweet, wild magpies or the loud laughter of young children playing inconspicuously on the roads.

A sense of suspicion sat in your stomach. Everything was quiet. Too quiet. Apart from that distant rumble that came from above. It rather resembled an oncoming earthquake. Wait, your mind halted. A quick turn was all it took to glance confusedly to the sky. At first, your eyes couldn't catch anything flagrant. However, the outline of an object traced the blue patch above you, becoming more apparent and distinct with every passing second.

A drone? You questioned. Too big, you added on. You craned your neck to peer harder at this new thing in the sky. It beared a resemblance to a ghostly apparition and then morphed into solid panels of white. Fear begun to bite at your chest. It was huge, and it was coming closer, to you. Compelled to sprint, that suicidal nature emerged with narcissism and opted to remove the human flight response from your system.

This great big space ship, you realised, was right above you and released a deafening roar of mechanical engine whirs and growls. It certainly wasn't military because It didn't contain the regular camouflage paint, or even the colour green, for that matter. Too big for Area 51 to keep a secret and is probably larger than New York City and Sydney combined. Its landing gear were the size of skyscrapers as they crushed the organic ground kilometres apart with draconian might.

This had to be otherworldly.

Fuck, you couldn't even comprehend the scale of this beast. Its entire body eliminated the sky from your view, and you noticed a crack on its exterior 100 metres ahead of you. It slowly opens with a loud whirling noise and a 'k-chk!' as the monstrous slab of metal locks into place when it connects to the quietened asphalt road. Being surprised it was conscious of the resident homes surrounding its seemingly unintended arrival was only momentary as several loud thumps echoed before you.

A frenzy of colours and four massive metal titans emerged from the opening and begun to approach in your direction. Not moving a muscle, clenching your bag's straps and eyes wide as saucers, you only watched as one blue colossal titan crouch with dignity, clear its voice and stare right at you with bright blue mechanical eyes.

"Do not be alarmed; my name is Ultra Magnus and -" his voice is coated with obnoxious authority and extends a hand to the three remaining titans behind him and continues, "This is my crew. We require your presence on the Lost Light as you contain utmost significance of several matters. Your attendance is not up for any negotiations; comply, or you will be forcefully detained under the regulations of the Tyrest Accord."

You stood, flabbergasted, bewildered and amazed.

"Now, this is something.
