Okay fellas here we go. We're gonna be talking about suicide jokes/ using suicide for attention today.
I know a lot of people who joke around about suicide, sometimes as a coping method, sometimes just as a lighthearted joke. When I say this, I mean like the "GenZ culture" type of jokes.
Now there are people on the internet who think it's funny to tell other people to go kill themselves, when they get mad or some shit. That's not a joke.
But the worse I've ever seen is when people use suicide to get attention. I don't know how much of an attention whore you have to be to try and make people believe that you're going to "kill your self after school today" just to make them care about you. Maybe if you weren't such a horrible fucking person, you wouldn't have to go to such extensive lengths just to have people care about you.
Now, the other day, one of my classmates thought it was funny to start "guilt tripping" people. Someone would say something slightly upsetting to her, and then she replied with:
"Well I was going to commit suicide after school today anyways."
There's a lot of things wrong with this.
One: If you're facing a serious fucking problem go talk to someone. I literally don't care who, just get some fucking help. Go talk to your mom, or your cousin, your sister, your boyfriend, your online friends I don't give a fuck but you need help because none of you deserve to die. You have amazing lives ahead of you. I swear to god if you have to come talk to me, please do. I don't want any of you taking your lives if I could've helped.
Two: Suicide isn't an invitation to your own pity party. You can't just use suicide threats just to make other people feel bad. If someone's being mean to you, you can't come back with how your going to kill your self. I don't know, say something rude back, or tell on them idk just don't guilt trip someone with suicide
Um yeah, that's it children. If you're ever thinking of killing yourself or know anyone that is, please go talk to someone. Even if it's me, I might not always answer, but just know you're loved. And if you think you aren't, you will be.
