'phone vibrates'

I reluctantly tear my eyes away from the korean drama playing on the tv screen, look at the caller I.D., and pick up the phone. "What?" I ask, still keeping my focus on the tv.

"Okay so.. I was thinking.-" My friend starts to say before I cut her off. "No I don't want to go clubbing." I tell her, already answering her question that was yet to be asked.

"Seriously, how do you even know I was going to ask that. Stop assuming." She sassily replies back.

"Fine, Mia, then what were you going to say?" I calmly reply, fully knowing that she was indeed going to ask me to go to the club with her.

"Whatever. That's not the point. Will you please..?" She asks.

"Please what?" I tease her.

"Ugh. Come to the club with me, everyone is depending on me to make you come." Mia groans.

"Sorry. My answer's the same. I am really busy today." I answer her.

"Really. With what?" She questions me. I can tell she's making that face where she lifts her eyebrows and squints her eyes.

"With watching my korean drama, duh." I answer her question like it's the most obvious thing in the world. That's because it is, what else would I be doing on a Sunday?

"Oh my god, Iris. We literally just graduated from college, this calls for a celebration. Plus you haven't been out for fun in.. forever." She tries to convince me.

"Bru-Fine, I'll go." I cut myself off. I considered saying no, but for some reason I felt like going out. There wasn't any specific reason why, I just had a feeling something was going to happen.

"Wait for real?! Oh my god. Thank you! I'll pick you up at 10." She excitedly shouts.

"Yea, yea. Probably won't happen again. Bye. Call me when you're here." I mumble the first part to myself, and hang up.

'If only I had just said no, and continued to watch my k-drama. My life would've been saved from the drama to come.'
