they tried not to look at each other for long, as if they would fall right back in love just like before

third person;

Violet found it weird seeing him. His face. Then the wave of nostalgia that hit shortly after. Ethan had provided her with some of the best memories as well as some of the worst. Despite the fact that he had hurt her, she still loved him, even after these years, she was sure of it.

"V, this is Harley, my girlfriend." Grayson says introducing Violet to a girl, who had brunette hair, paired with ocean blue eyes. She quickly looked away from Ethan, focusing on Grayson once again. Violet found her quite pretty and thought that her and Grayson looked amazing as a couple.

"Well, it's nice to meet the famous Violet I've heard so much about." Harley says. Instead of shaking Violet's hand, she hugs her. Violet seems startled as she wasn't really a hugger, unless she was close with the person she was with. She recovered and hugged her back, in order to avoid any awkwardness.

"You're really pretty." Violet says, as they both pull away from each other.

"Thank you." she smiles. "I love your tattoos." she says. Violet grins widely. She turned to Grayson once more, her eyes landing on Ethan.

Ethan stepped towards her first, a fake smile plastered across his face. You could practically cut the tension with a knife at this point.

"You look beautiful." Ethan says. He leans in, hugging Violet and Violet hugs him back. She hadn't felt one of his hugs in a long time and she actually did miss it.

"Don't look too bad yourself." Violet replies, pulling away. She felt her heart beating wildly in her chest, since she hadn't spoke to him at all. She noticed that Ethan's hair was much longer and he had replaced his famous black studs with some small silver hoops. He had his beard grown out more too, just like Grayson's. She also noticed that his dress sense had completely changed since she last saw him.

Ethan also noticed a lot about Violet that she had changed about her appearance. From her dyed box braids to the new tattoos and however, Violet's imperceptible taste of fashion had remained the same. Ethan knew she always looked good whatever she wore.

Violet stepped back towards her boyfriend, who had now put his arm around her.

Ethan's eyes flickered to Jamie, a cold and hard stare unable to leave. He had always been jealous of anyone who was with Violet and this time, it wasn't going to be any different, even if he had his own girlfriend.

"I almost forgot, I don't know how actually," Violet laughs.

"Guys, this is Jamie. He's my boyfriend." Violet says, proudly. Jamie grins, flashing his pearly white teeth at everyone, before jokingly beginning to bow a little.

"Nice to meet you guys." he smiles. Violet could tell he was feeling a little uneasy due to the sudden interaction with so many people. He also knew he was the only one who didn't really know anyone. Jamie wasn't going to be here for the actual wedding due to work, however, he wanted to be here just to congratulate Violet's best friends, just to be polite and have common courtesy.

"This is April, she's my girlfriend." Ethan says, his eyes meeting Violet's in order to see if she could get a reaction out of her, but he didn't.

April waves, her long acrylics in front of her. She was blonde and had green eyes. Violet looked at the way she was dressed. It was not pretty. At all. Not to mention, her fake tan was quite patchy.

Violet knew times change and people move on with new things, including relationships, as did she. The entire gang all sat down in the living room, chatting amongst themselves. Violet made sure to sit with Jamie, just in case he did start to feel uncomfortable and wanted to start heading to bed. But he was fine. To be honest, he had began to mingle with Nate and Will.

Shawn puts out a few drinks for everyone along with some snacks.

"So, how have you been?" Grayson asks Violet.

"I've been surviving." Violet says, a smile on her face.

"Haven't we all." Grayson says, shaking his head.

"I know, but life right? Sometimes it's amazing and sometimes it's the shittest thing going." Violet says.

"Yeah, I guess so. But, I went to your gallery in LA." Grayson says.

"Seriously? Did you like it?" Violet asks, joy practically dripping down her face.

"Fuck yeah! It took me a long ass time though because you gotta buy tickets and all of that shit and it's always booked out." he smiles.

"You could've just asked me, I would've got you there in an instant. You realise that right?" Violet laughs.

"I know but I figured you were busy since your opening your second one soon in New York, am I right?" Grayson says.

"Yeah, but I'll always have time for you obviously." Violet says.

"I know. Oh well." Grayson shrugs. Violet and Harley engage in conversation, talking about embarrassing things Grayson does, and talking generally about life. The only person who stuck out like a sore thumb was April. She was on her phone.

The night began to get later and later as it got closer to the next morning. Around 3 o'clock in the morning, everyone started to get tired. Joey showed Jamie and Violet to their room, so they could get some rest.

Violet exhaled deeply as she fell flat on her face on top of the bed. It looked amazing and she was happy to finally get some sleep.

"Your friends are nice." Jamie says.

"I know." Violet smiles as she starts to unzip her suitcase to find some pyjamas. She undresses herself and puts on some shorts and hoodie.

"What are you thinking about?" Violet asks Jamie, who was in bed already. She climbs next to him, snuggling close to his body.

"Ethan right? That's the guy." he asks, his face turning to Violet.

"Ethan and I have history but there isn't anything between us anymore." Violet says. Jamie was conscious that he had a chance of losing her. He knew a few things about Ethan however, when Violet had told him, she didn't tell him his name.

"He still likes you." Jamie says.

"What?" Violet laughs.

"You still like him." Jamie says.

"Are you crazy?"

"No V. I have eyes in my head. I saw the way you two looked at each other." Jamie says, his face serious.

"You still like him." Jamie mutters.

"No. I don't. I have you." Violet says.

"I don't think I have you though." Jamie says.

And he was right. Maybe he never even had her to begin with.
