violet's pov;

Before we all knew it, the registry hall began to fill up rapidly. Ethan and I stood at the front, greeting each guest and welcoming them ensuring that they knew where the afterparty was going to be held since we were only here for a set amount of time.

The pianist began to play the soundtrack to All Of Me by John Legend. I remember her telling me she had always dreamed of entering the hall to this song. Everyone stood up facing the entrance. And there she was, her arm linked with her fathers. His pristine black suit as well as Joey's white gown trailing down after her.

She had a veil over her face however I could still see the smile on her face as well as her teary eyes. She knew all too well she was joining a brand new family. Marriage was considered to be sacred for both of us because it really marked true love.

I stood to one side, looking opposite towards Ethan, who was also smiling alongside Shawn, who was quite literally shocked, just as I had said. He had the most contagious and joyous smile that I had never seen before. A glint of astonishment and proudness within his eyes as he watched his bride walk down the aisle alongside her father.

She stopped, looking up at Shawn, her father letting go. Shawn held out his hand to help her up the step before they stood opposite each other. A cheesy smile spread across his face as she lifted her veil, revealing her face clearly, which also held the most joyful grin.

All the guests sit down as the priest begins to read allowed the vows.

I looked at Ethan, satisfaction in my expression as the priest began to recite the vows. They both latched onto each other's hands, staring at each other with admiration, making my heart flutter with the utmost of happiness. I was so thankful that god decided to bless her with so much because she deserves it so much.

"Do you take Shawn Peter Raul Mendes to be your lawfully wedded husband?" the priest finally says.

"I do." Joey says.

"Do you take Joelle Brooks to be your lawfully wedded wife?" the priest says.

"I do." Shawn says, his eyes leaving the priest before landing back on Joey.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." the priest smiles.

Shawn looks at Joey before giving her a small yet satisfactory kiss. The perfect kiss.

The hall then fills with cheering, me included as well as Harley. The priest then proceeds to help them sign the marriage certificates and all the paperwork that was needed. Ethan comes, standing next to me. He looks down at me then my lips.

I giggle lightly, "What are you looking at?" he says.

"You." he says, smiling like an absolute fucking idiot. "You're just fucking beautiful." he smiles. The photographer grabs a few photos of the new couple and any family pictures that were needed. The entire friendship group had managed to get into one photo and damn, the nostalgia was unreal.

We all went outside to the gardens, which were absolutely stunning. A large waterfall lay right in the middle, beams of lights reflecting off from it. The photographer does a mini photoshoot whilst I sorted out everything else with Joey's parents for the venue, which was in fact the beach.

As I said, Shawn had a thing for beaches and Joey. Well she had always wanted to get married at a beach so it was a win win.

We drove to the beach and a gorgeous marquee had been set up, as well as the rounded tables that I had chosen. The stage was immaculate, different shades of red roses as the backdrop. Fairy lights hung from corners of the room and a cake had been placed near the front of the room. Everything had gone exactly according to my plan and the way that Joey wanted it too.

I kicked off my heels, placing them next to our table, making sure that Joey was okay and that her second entrance was as perfect as the first one, however this time, she'd be with her husband.

After all the guests had settled down, an announcement was made by the DJ and in came the bride and groom themselves, linked arm in arm. Cameras and flashlights pointed straight at the two of them as people attempted to update their social medias.

They stopped in the middle of the dance floor and the lights dimmed as a spotlight focused on them before they did their first dance. Holy shit. Their first dance as a married couple.

"Due to a special request from the groom, I'd like all the couples to get on the dance floor and join the new couple!" the DJ announced.

Grayson led Harley to the floor before they started swaying against each other.

Ethan looked at me, raising his eyebrows. "C'mon." he says, wiggling his fingers.

"No way. There are so many people here." I say. More and more people joined and Ethan looked around before looking back at me.

"You have to!" he says, pulling my hand. I stand up as he drags me to the dance floor. I stare at him, an embarrassed expression on my face as he pulls me closer to his body, grabbing onto my hand and waist.

"I've never known Violet LaMont to turn down a dance." he says.

"Well, you'd be surprised Dolan." I shrug, following his steps. Slowly, the music fades out as do the people around us and all my attention is focused straight on him.

"I want to marry you Violet." he says, quite literally out of the blue.

My words get stuck in my throat. "What?" I say. I look around us and realise that there was no longer anyone around us. It was just us two. Joey and Shawn had left and the music had faded into my favourite love song. All I Ever Need by Austin Mahone. He remembered? After all this time? Even though be found it unbelievably cringe?

The spotlight was now focused on us and I couldn't see anything else except him.

Ethan takes a step back from me.

No.

Did he really..

No way..

"I want to marry you Violet." he says, fumbling around in his pocket before pulling out a velvet box. He gets down on one knee, looking at me.

"Will you marry me LaMont?" he smiles, hope on his face. I cannot even begin to process my emotions. It felt like a tsunami; every single emotion hitting at once. Happiness. Sadness. Gratitude. Love. Everything.

I never thought I deserved to be in this position. I never thought anyone would be capable of loving me like this.

"Oh my god, say yes!" I hear Joey scream. I feel my eyes go teary before I nod.

"Yes." I say, smiling widely. Ethan grins, taking out the ring and sliding it onto my finger. I stare at my finger. It was exactly the type of ring I wanted. Not too fancy. It was elegant.

I look at Ethan as he stands up and I practically jump on before kissing him.

I hear everyone cheering. As I embrace Ethan, I feel Grayson join the hug, then Harley, then Joey before we ended up in one massive sandwich. This was my family. Alex. Nate, Will, Grayson, Joey, Shawn and Ethan. We all let go of each other.

Ethan.

He was my fiancé.

I look at him once more and he does the same.

We were getting married.

Finally.

I had met the love of my life and who knew? Fate has a weird way of bringing two people together.

I never thought I'd get my happy ever after but here I was.

"I love you so much." I say, a tear rolling down my cheek. He was quick to wipe it away.

"I love you so much more." he smiles.
