sorry for the lack of updates. i just finished my first week of exams but there's another week left; enjoy chapter 20 !! ty for bringing this book to rank 237 in forever!
We went to literally every store there was in that shopping mall, and Natalie pushed me into the dressing room to try on all the outfits that she thought looked good on me. She actually has a really good fashion sense, but obviously, I'm not going to tell her that.
After shopping, we went back to her car, carrying a few more shopping bags than we should have. I looked at the amount of bags that I have on my hand, and asked "Natty, where did you get all these money from?"
"Your mom gave me her credit card this morning," she stopped walking and turned back to look at me. "What, you didn't think that I have this much money to spend on clothes, did you?"
I shrugged, continue walking.
We got into her car, and I dozed off due to the lack of sleep I have last night.
"Anna," I heard someone speaking quietly next to my ear. "We're here!"
I rubbed my eyes and looked around, seeing a park with people and some dogs running around. We walked together to a trial that leads to a temple on the top of a small hill. That is when I saw that there's a bunch of roses lying on the ground. The roses on the ground starts from where we are standing and all the way to the end of the trail. Damn, I wonder how much those roses cost.
I feel Natalie standing behind me with her hand on my shoulder. "Go birthday girl," she said. "Follow the roses and pick them up along the way!"
With a push from behind by Natalie, I walked towards the roses and picked them up one by one. at the end of the path, i could faintly see a familiar tall figure standing, holding a guitar in his hand. My heart started to beat faster as I close the distance between us.
That is when I see Ashton, standing in the middle of a heart shape that is built together by vanilla candles. As I bent down to pick down the last rose, he started singing the lyrics of Justin Bieber's song "Sorry" with his soothing voice while playing the guitar. At this moment, it was as if the time around us has stop, as if there was just the two of us in this word. My heart beat in sync with the rhythm of his voice.
Yeah, is it too late now to say sorry?
'Cause I'm missing more than just your body
Oh, is it too late now to say sorry?
Yeah, I know that I let you down
Is it too late to say I'm sorry now? When he finished the song, he picked up a poster from the ground and held it up for me to read. "Will you forgive me, my love?"I said, with a worried look on his face. He looked at me pleadingly, with his sparkling eyes. How could I ever say no to that?
I looked up to his face and gave him a smile. He laid his guitar gently onto the bench nearby and walked to me, putting his hands on my waist. He pulled me into his warm embrace and I nuzzled my face in his chest, breathing in his familiar smell.
"I never knew that you played the guitar," I said, lifting my head to look at him.
He gave me an awkward smile and scratched his hair, "Well, actually, I don't. I only learned this song so I can sing and play it to you."
Smiling at his response, I tip toed and gave him a peck on his cheeks. He turned tomato red and turned his face away from me, embarrassed.
This is when I know that he is the guy that I want to spend rest of my life with.
the end.
