When Joohyun walked the streets at night everyone knew not to mess with her.

No matter whether she was alone or in a crowd of three dozen, not a single soul dared to lay a hand on her. Everyone knew what the woman did in the club of hers, but everyone also knew not to tell, and also what would happen if they did. The last time someone had gone to the police, Joohyun had personally dealt with them.

And let's just say, the walls of The Velvet ran red with something other than paint that night.

As Joohyun strolled carelessly through the streets, people practically ran as soon as she neared them. She rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help the small smirk that twitched at the corners of her lips; Joohyun had always been a bit of a sadist (a trait that both herself and her sister shared).

She didn't normally like to be out at such a late hour, instead preferring to be in her house sleeping peacefully, not caring that at that moment people were probably planning her murder, but Joohyun had clumsily left a few important papers in her office. She had finished most of them with Sooyoung, but the younger girl had gotten a sudden business call and had to run, leaving Joohyun with a mere peck on the cheek and a stack of papers still left to write.

Joohyun didn't hold it against Sooyoung, she couldn't hold anything against her, but it did leave her feeling incredibly frustrated with her seemingly dismal luck. Eventually, Joohyun found herself stood outside of The Velvet, the obnoxiously loud music still playing even in the owner's absence.

She pushed the front door open, a few curious eyes immediately darting towards her and widening when they realised who she was, but Joohyun ignored all the looks she was receiving. Her eyes wandered to the bar, finding Kyulkyung had already swapped shifts with one of the other bartenders: a man by the name of Park Chanyeol. Joohyun herself had been the one to hire him, finding the contrast between his intimidating appearance and kind personality both amusing and intriguing.

Giving him a quick nod, Joohyun wordlessly walked through the crowd, the large majority of people parting so she could get through hassle-free. Again, she struggled to keep the smirk at bay. Joohyun instead pressed her lips into a tight line, trying her hardest to show little-to-no emotion: that's just who she was.

Joohyun quickly entered the backroom of her office and flicked the dim light on, the sound-proof walls meaning the only noise in the room was the faint humming of said light. She searched around on her desk, looking to see if she could find the papers that would most likely be keeping her up all night.

With no such luck (told you it was dismal), Joohyun expanded her search to the cupboards of her desk. For some reason, she couldn't quite remember what she had done with them. What she did remember was that after chewing Seulgi out for being late and shouting at Seung-Wan for her careless slip of the tongue, she had called The Pinks and given them an order. After that, everyone had left except Sooyoung and Joohyun, meaning the two were alone and trying desperately to complete the paperwork.

But everything after that was a blur to Joohyun.

She grumbled, throwing open the final draw and finally spotting the papers. Joohyun shook her head and grabbed them, heading out of her office and locking the door shut behind her. She left the club as quickly as possible, just wanting to be at home in bed.

Joohyun didn't even consider the thought of walking back to her apartment before she hailed a cab, the bitter chill of the weather completely dissuading her (not that she would've done it anyway). The taxi pulled to the curb, and Joohyun merely spoke an address before climbing in the back.

For the entire ride, the driver was sweating bullets, looking back at Joohyun in the rear-view mirror every five minutes or so. Normally, the woman would be amused by such antics. But this time, Joohyun found it only to be a nuisance that was preventing her from getting home as soon as possible.

By the time the man parked outside Joohyun's apartment, she climbed out and simply walked away, not bothering to pay (he wouldn't be bothering her anyway). She scoffed as the sound of the taxi driving away slowly faded into a blur of the city's noises, and instead Joohyun focussed on unlocking the door.

She stepped into her house, making sure to lock the door behind her, and flipped the lightswitch. The room lit up and Joohyun made her way to the kitchen, wanting nothing more than to get a glass of wine and go to bed.

She didn't so much as flinch when she felt a presence behind her. Infact, Joohyun could only sigh as she opened the cupboard, grabbing two glasses instead of one, "Want a glass?" She asked, shutting the cupboard and placing them on the countertop infront of her.

"Not really."

Joohyun shrugged, "Too bad."

Pouring two glasses, Joohyun turned around and passed one to Chaeyoung, lifting the glass daringly to her lips and taking a sip, "I take it you got my order?" She asked, her eyes flitting over the dark attire Chaeyoung was donning.

The younger girl smirked impassively, taking a drink of the wine despite her initial rejection, "Why else would I be here?" She spoke teasingly. Chaeyoung scanned the kitchen with her eyes, not failing to notice the changes since she'd last paid Joohyun a visit in her home.

"I don't know. Maybe just to visit me?"

Chaeyoung laughed dryly, both her and Joohyun knowing that was something that would never happen. Her laughter quickly died off and her eyes became hollow as she placed her glass on the island, suddenly becoming serious, "How do you want it done?"

"Bring her to me; I want to watch the life fade from her eyes."

Chaeyoung said nothing more, reaching a hand out expectantly. Sighing, Joohyun opened up a drawer and pulled out an envelope, throwing it at Chaeyoung with no warning- the girl caught it easily. Chaeyoung opened the envelope, running her fingers along the hefty stack of won.

"There's ten million won in there. Make sure it's done."

Nodding, Chaeyoung turned away and walked out the front door, leaving Joohyun stood alone in her kitchen. There were no more words needed: Joohyun knew Chaeyoung would go through with her promise- she always did.

Kim Yerim would be dead by tomorrow evening. She'd make sure of it.
