Believe drags her feet as she walks creating a path in the sand behind her.Rit and Lazurus follow silently behind her awaiting her next move. Rits curiosity is pecked by this behaviour as throughout her whole life as a Royal Crosser none of the Queens behaved like this. Usually they are dragged passed out into the water and awaken either on the journey to home or in the castles sleep chambers.
Believe is stuck between a trance and consciousness. Curiosity binds her to the state of no true self control, whether she's being followed of not it doesn't matter. Destination has become her.
A step into the ocean bonds onto her enter being that she will eventually know of but will never understand it or completely comply too it. The second step into the ocean awakens a never forgotten memory or feeling in the depths of a man's mind. A man who's intentions may leave us in question.
Believe continues walking towards the moons reflexion on the water until her head disappears from sight. Lazarus and Rits join her.
She swims deeper and deeper into the ocean until the trance wears off. Then it hits her. She can't breathe...
Her heart beats faster demanding its supply of oxygen. Believe attempts to swim to the surface but she knows that she won't make it.
Just breathe. Lazurus's voice instructs. She looks at him for the time since her break down and simply listens.
IT BURNT. The feeling is deathly. She took a deep breath in, she truly did, but it all came with water. Her lungs felt like they were tearing apart and still she had no air. Her thrusts to escape the pain slowed until it came to a complete halt. Numbness and calm spread within her. This is it are her last thoughts as she stares at Lazurus and takes her last breath, never closing her eyes.
Then it starts.
Rits and Lazurus watch attentively as the change happens.
It starts with the hair, communication. Her hair straightens out then fuses to form dreadlocks the size of a charger cord. The straits start connecting and disconnecting with each other. Her nose retreats into her skin leaving behind two crescent shaped holes above her lips. The skin between her fingers tears to and creates webs that reach her nails, grip. Her nails elongate, sharpen, and hardens, killing. The bones in her legs break while the skin between her thighs tears until the tear gets to her ankles then the skin fuses together to become one, movement. The bones in her feet spick out of her skin removing the nails and any prove of toes. The bones become as thin as needles and a thin skin connects and covers them into a leaf-like shape, direction.
Her breasts retrieve and gills form at the sides of her rips. her skin turns a an ashy gray with hints of bright pink below every gill, on the edges of her webbed hands, on the tipoff her tail, on the rims of her eye lids and the tips on her dreads, lining.
The anxiety Lazurus and Rits feel dissolves into excitement as the gills on Believes body slowly open and close. Her hairs stops connecting and just moves swiftly with the current. She is alive and so far faster than any women Rits has ever helped cross over. Rits wonders how much power believe actually possess as she has the most power and rare lining of all her spiraters.
Once there was a chosen one who actually failed the transformation. She simply flatlined and lost all her talent and abilities without even remembering it. She just woke upon the shore not know when she got to the beach why or how.
Now every successful transformation is something to celebrate.Believe wakes up after a while of the transformation.
♥BELIEVE ♥
It seems impossible. A mystical creature created by sailors said to be dehydrated, starved and sick is real. A creature known worldwide before the world knew it was not alone, before superpower and colonization came into play is true. A creature of the same structure and different looks from culture to culture exists. It definitely doesn't look like how Believe had imagines it.
For starters it does not have long flowy hair. No boobs or colourful tail. No pretty nose or perfect slim waist and flat stomach. No brightly coloured nails and out of the world stunning eye colour. In fact nothing looked like the movies.
The only human part about the figures in front of me was the upper body structure. They have incredibly large eyes which are pitch black and glisten, like marble. They are both gray just different shades and one has silver linings on varies parts of his/her body. They have dreadlocks which seem to have a life of their own. Just a line indicates that they have a mouth. They look enchanting in a sinister way.
While Believe silently and fearfully observes the species in front of her she remembers drowning. She wonders if she's truly dead or if this adds on the unnatural train she seems to be riding since Cains death. Is the afterlife in water and its guardians' are mythical creatures.
You are alive Lazurus's voice says from the blue lined creature. It sounds like his words are one with the water. As if the water got a voice , but... his lips did not move. Yet she knows he is the blue one lined.
She finally registers what he said.
She moves her tongue ready to talk but something feels wrong. She has no teeth. Raising her arms to truly feel her lack of teeth she catches a glimpse of her hands. Her heart races as she sees they look just like the creatures. With fear and adrenaline Believe attempts to swim away from the body that does not belong to her but her legs will not allow it, she ends up just thrusting back. She looks down and seems to have lost her mind. She has a tail. She is them.
