Demi stood in the staircase with her boyfriend, Demi knew this wasn't going to end well by the look on her boyfriend's face. Going to 8th period john caught Demi sitting on Odell's lap on the benches in front of the gym and even though she knew they were friends John felt disrespected.
" why the fuck were you sitting on his lap?" John asked Demi .
"He asked me to so we could take a picture. It was nothing babe" Demi said looking up at him.
John slapped Demi right in her mouth causing Demi to fold her lips over her braces. Her hand went up to her mouth to see if she was bleeding.
"I watched your lying ass and you sat on his lap for a long fucking time, nobody was taking no picture. I damn sure didn't see nobody standing in front of y'all with a phone but as soon as I walked around the corner you want to hop your ass up!"
"Hey I'm over here! Look at me when I'm talking to you Demetria " John said gripping Demi's jaw.
Demi felt the tears forming in her eyes as she stared up at the taller guy.
" if I catch you on her fucking lap again or anybody else's lap I swear I'm knocking them braces down your throat" John said to his girlfriend before he let her jaw go.
" ok" Demi mumbled before she walked out the door to her classroom.
She wiped her eyes before she walked in class.
" go get a pass Demetria " mr. Henry said.
" I just came from the bathroom, I busted my lip and it wouldn't stop bleeding" she lied.
Once her teacher let her slide she took her seat in the back next to Odell. Odell stared at his best friend who he was secretly, madly in love with. He turned Demi's face towards him so he could get a good look at her. As soon as Demi's eyes met his the tears started back up.
"Dems. What happened?" Odell asked.
"He saw me sitting on your lap. I cant be doing all those things we used to do Delly. John doesn't like that and I hate getting him mad" Demi said talking among herself and Odell .
Odell shook his head at his best friend before he went back to his class work.

Odell sat in his usual spot where he's always at after school hanging with his other friends before football practice started. He haven't hung out with his best friend in two whole weeks just so Demi could please John.
Demi made up in her mind that she was done with John . She couldn't do anything while she was with him, John was controlling her and she wanted out. Meeting john after school in the staircase she told John that she couldn't be with him anymore and he didn't take it too well. And before he could hit Demi she took off running out the door and John was right after her. Demi ran towards the gym knowing that's where her best friend was but she didn't get far. John caught up with her before slinging her to the ground. Demi instantly went to covering her face.
" you think you're going to break up with me!" John yelled punching Demi in her side.
John kicked Demi in her face not caring that she was covering her face. Demi was full on sobbing now as John just went crazy on her. With Demi crying and John yelling they caught people attention. Kids coming from around the corner to see what was going on. Some even tried to get john to stop hitting on Demi but john wasn't hearing that.
"BACK THE FUCK UP!" John yelled at everyone who kept getting closer.
Demi went to peek from under her hand but as soon as she did John hit her right in the eye. It's like he was waiting for Demi move her hands.
" please stop" Demi cried.
She couldn't do nothing as she laid on the ground with john hovered right over her.
" you want to break up with me Demi ? Huh? Is that what you want?" John asked before he spit on Demi.
Odell was throwing the football with his partner when one of his friends ran on the field telling him that John and Demi were fighting by the library. And with that being said Odell took off running from the football field all the way to the library in full speed with his teammates right behind him, them wanting to be noisy. Odell seen red when he seen his best friend on the floor. Odell pushed John so hard it sent the skinny boy flying to the ground. He didn't even wait for John to get up before he attacked John. Now John was the one balled up on the floor. It wasn't until security and one of the coaches came pulling them off each other.
" you better watch your fucking back" john said to Odell with a bloody mouth.
Odell just ignored him before going over to Demi who sat on the floor with a few kids surrounding her.
" hey Demi I'm here now" Odell said hugging her best friend.
Demi just cried until they were taken to the office. They ended up calling Demi's parents and the ambulance for Demi. Odell didn't even leave Demi's side for one second. She went to collect her things off the field before she went back to Demi forgetting about practice even though they had a game in two days.
" we want to press charges on that boy! And we want a restraining order against him" Demi's mom said to the principal.
sitting in a meeting with both Demi's and John's parents. The police was called who was also present in the the room.
"That's not necessary miss. I promise you our son won't ever go nowhere near your daughter again" John's dad said.
"What the hell do you mean it's not necessary! Look at my best friend face! He been hitting her for the longest. She was just too scared to ever come out and admit. I've seen him hit Demi and if you ask around the school I'm pretty sure other students have and I'm not talking about the incident that happened today" Odell said.
"Take that nigga to jail!" Odell said.
" is that true Demetria ?" The officer asked.
Demi eyes instantly darted over to john who was starting right at her giving her a death glare like "if you tell I'll kill you"
" you don't have to be afraid Demi I won't let him hurt you" Odell said looking at his friend as he held her hand.
"Yes" Demi said before she wiped her tears away.
