Rules:
• Books must be either completed or over 10,000 words.
• Poetry books must be at least 500 words.
• Short stories must be completed.
• All entries must be in English (a few lines of dialogue can be in other languages).
• Mature content is allowed, but make sure to note it on your application.
• All entries must be original! Fan-fiction included! Using characters and scenes from other works (from Wattpad or otherwise) in fan-fiction is allowed, but don't repeat lines or chapters. This can be classified as plagiarism, which is against the law!
• All applicants must understand that their entries will be judged partially on editing/grammar (so if you've ever mixed up 'your and you're', you might want to edit that before you submit the entry!).
• All applicants must be at least 13 years of age.
• All applications must be submitted on the 'Apply Here' section below. If entries are submitted anywhere else on this page, they will not be considered!
• All entries can only be submitted once. Authors can enter any number of books, but each book can only be entered once, into one category.
• You must enter your own book. No nominations! This also prohibits entering through a second account. The book you apply with must be on the applying account's profile!• All applicants must be following us (@OWRAwards) to even be considered for an award.

Name (First name and last initial)
Username
Age (if you're not comfortable giving this information, just confirm that you're over 13 years of age)
Country
Password (your favorite dessert. Note: DO NOT submit your account's password—it might sound crazy, but we've seen it happen before!)
Entry Title
Entry Genre (chosen books will be sorted into categories, and the best of each genre will be judged against the other finalists)
Based On (THIS IS FOR FANFICTION ENTRIES ONLY)
Mature (Mature content warnings for your story. ONLY REQUIRED IF YOU HAVE MATURE CONTENT IN ONE OR MORE CHAPTERS. If you don't have anything mature in your story, then you don't need to say 'Mature: No')
Tag at least 3 Active People (the more people you tag, the more votes you'll get if your book is selected!)WHY WE ASK FOR THIS INFORMATION:
Name: Due to some usernames being long and difficult to remember when voting, we display names (first name or first and last initial) to allow voters to vote without any trouble or inconvenience. Even if your username isn't long, we ask for this to keep everything organized and equal. IF YOU WRITE WITH A PEN NAME, YOU ARE WELCOME TO USE IT!
Username: Even though it's listed in your comment, we ask that you write your current username out, so we can see your comment and double check that it has remained the same before posting it as a semi-finalist/finalist.
Age: Though Wattpad's age restrictions note that you must be over 13 to use the app, we often have rule-breakers. We can only accept entries from authors 13+, sorry!
Country: Since Wattpad's diagnostics and stats on location of readers are usually far from accurate, we collect our own data. This is purely for research, so we can fit the needs of authors worldwide in the coming years. (This also helps us to fairly judge grammar and spelling if your first language is not English)
Password: Again, this IS NOT the password to your account! Please, never give that information away to anyone for any reason! The 'password' for this year's application is your favorite dessert. The reason for having this is to ensure you read the rules—or, at least, the full form.
Entry Title: This one's pretty self-explanatory, but we've received past entries without a title. This is the key part of your application, especially if you have more than one book published on your profile!
Entry Genre: When applications are closed and our judges are selecting semi-finalists, the entries will be sorted into genres.
Based On: Again, this is only for Fanfiction entries! For purposes of judging fairly, our judges each do a little bit of background research on the show, movie, etc. that the Fanfiction entries they're judging is based on, to get a sense of the likeness and quality of the writing compared to its original story.
Content Warnings: THIS IS NOT REQUIRED FOR NON-MATURE BOOKS; meaning that if you don't have any mature content in your book, you don't even need to say 'No'. Just leave it out of your application! For those who have some mature content, it won't count against you! We just want to warn readers accordingly! NOTE: THIS DOES NOT PROTECT SMUT. IF YOUR BOOK IS MAINLY CENTERED AROUND SMUT AND/OR SEXUAL ACTIVITY, IT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IMMEDIATELY!
Tags: Alas, the most annoying part of any competition—tagging. Sigh. We know it's annoying and seemingly unnecessary, but it's required to keep our awards running. While we do our best, we can't mind-control people into applying or voting *glares at Grodd the Gorilla from DC's Flash comics with envy*. This is the sole reason why we ask you to tag at least 3 active people. Remember, the more active people you tag, the more attention your application will receive and the more votes you'll get from friends and fans!
