LISSA CARMICHAEL makes her way down the steps, a bounce in every step she takes. A large smile on her red lips, a sparkle in her brown eyes.
She gently runs a hand through her short hair, taking notice of Gil up ahead waiting for her. She gives him a wave and he smiles at her in response.
She doesn't say anything until she goes to stand next to his car. "Gil, this is a nice surprise to what do I owe the pleasure?"
"I need your help," He tells, giving her a smile.
"Of course you do, but what I meant is what do you need my help with?"
"Lets go for some coffee." Gil unlocks the door for her to get in.
Lissa stares at him with curious eyes, knowing that it must be something serious or else he wouldn't be suggesting coffee. She just nods okay, getting in the car as her curiosity begins to gnaw at her, but she knows there's no point in asking until they get the cup of steaming hot coffee.
It doesn't take long for them to get to a coffee shop since there's one in every corner. As they get out of the car and head to the coffee shop, Lissa can't help but let out a sigh as she sees the somewhat long line.
"So, are you going to tell me why we're here?"
Gil looks to her and he says, "You should find us a table, I'll order the drinks."
Lissa goes to take one small step away from Gil, she then does a quick glance around before stepping right back next to him. "There's nowhere to sit."
Gil doesn't say anything but stare at her, he lets out a small sigh and says, "Forget about the coffee then."
"That's fine with me because I have coffee in my bag." Lissa gives him an amused smile as she goes to make her way out of the coffee shop.
"Of course you do, you always have coffee no matter the weather," Gil says as he follows after her.
"Well what can I say, it's in my blood especially with the fact that my mother ran an import and export coffee business."
"Yet you always drink instant coffee," Gil says as they get in his car.
"My mother rolls in her grave every day because of that," Lissa says in an amused tone. The tone in her voice changes though as she looks over to Gil who hasn't started the car. "So, what exactly are you trying to avoid telling me?"
"Who says I'm trying to—"
"Gil, I know you didn't pick me up to talk about coffee."
"I'm going to ask Malcolm for his insight on the case." Gil doesn't look to her and instead begins to start the car.
"Oh..." Her voice is toneless, her face seeming to have hardened. She doesn't look at Gil but instead straight ahead. "I didn't know you were still in contact with him."
