Grace Borger (Zevendorp, the Netherlands - October 18, 2020)
The storage room floor feels cold, even though I've been sitting on it all night. Lucius is still looking for something that might help us escape, like he has been doing since we were brought in here by the aliens.
When Ella, Jenna, and I were captured, the aliens took us to the town school, which they must have changed into some sort of prison. The three of us got locked up in an emptied out storage room. About an hour later, the aliens had come again, this time with Erin and Lucius, who were also locked in this room.
Since we got together again though, Erin has been doing nothing but complain, whereas Ella and Jenna remained as bitchy as ever. Lucius and I have been looking for ways to get out of the room, even if just to keep us busy.
As the days have gone by, however, Erin has become worse and worse. At first she was just crying because no one had any idea what happened to Thomas...
I really hope he's okay...
Then there's the cold, the hunger, and the fact that her leg is still killing her, so I'm giving her those. It's become much more problematic, however, since she's started lashing out at everyone else with it. First she was picking fights with Ella and Jenna, because that's just too easy to do. Now she's singling me out though...
As I wake up on the cold floor, I can see Erin staring at me with a scowl on her face. Lucius stops from looking for ways to escape to see what is going to happen next, as do Ella and Jenna.
"Good morning Grace..." Erin says. "I hope you know that it's all your fault; you ruined everything!"
"What did I do?" I ask in confused response.
"Calm down, sis..." Lucius says.
"No, I won't calm down!" Erin raises her voice. "My poor Thomas is out there all alone, probably getting served up as an alien breakfast, and you're telling me to calm down?!!"
"It's not Grace's fault that Thomas got grabbed!"
The very idea that it's my fault that something happened to Thomas hurts me deeply. I would never want to hurt him or have anything bad happen to him. I can't stop a tiny tear from escaping the corner of my eye...
Of course it's her fault!!!" Erin now yells. "It's always her fault! Ever since we were kids, everything that's ever gone wrong has been because of her!"
"Why are you being so mean to me..." I ask softly.
"Wow, you're such a crybaby," Ella interjects as she sees the tears in my eyes.
"Why do you think?" Erin answers my question. "You're so pathetic! We only ever tolerated you because mom and dad said we had to and because it was so fucking unbearable to watch you get all mopey!!!"
"You're not thinking straight!" Lucius now tells our sister.
"Of course I'm thinking straight! Someone has to! Grace is nothing but trouble; she should have been left to fend for herself and then we wouldn't have been here!!!"
"What...?" is all I can ask with my now shivery voice.
"You take that back right now!" Lucius angrily tells Erin. "She's still your sister for crying out loud!"
"Who cares what she is?!!" Erin yells before looking at me again. "And yes you heard me! The only reason you were allowed to stay with us is because Thomas knew you'd die on your own because you're so pathetic!"
"Would you say that if Thomas were actually here?!" Lucius yells back at Erin.
"I wouldn't have to," is her answer. "If he were here right now he'd be so sick of Grace that he'd tell her himself! I know how he thinks!"
