————————————————————————

Katya was sad, sadder than sad, she was so close to breaking. Out of nowhere Her life crumbled before her eyes . She got laid off from her job, the house suddenly need a bunch of work and her father decided it would be a good time to pop up into her life again.

Trixie picked up a second job to help with bills and repairs but Katya just felt worse. She felt so alone but it was all her fault, she's the reason Trixie is rarley around anymore. Fuck her boss for making cut backs so he could hire his nephew, Katya was the best at her job, always organized and on time, basically reading her bosses mind all day.

Now she sat at home and sobbed infront of her laptop scrapping for a job. She caught a glimpse of herself in the black of the laptop screen every once and a while and it just made her sob harder. She was pathetic and sad crying on the couch begging strangers to let her be their receptionist.

Today was the worst its been. Katya knew her depression and anxiety was getting worse, she just didn't have the energy to try and help herself. As per usual she woke up alone, the sheets already cold. Katya tried her best to get up, but it felt like the weight of the entire planet was crushing her ribs forcing her clammy tierd body against the matress. All she could do is lay there and think of all the things she had to do today.

Anxiety filled her lungs like a hurricane her diaphragm struggling to keep her breathing. Tears leaked from her eyes as she sobbed. When she closed her eyes she could see her laptop on the inside of her eyelids, sitting there mocking her.

" Trixie?" She sobbed out pointlessly. Katya knew Trixie was gone, she knew her girlfriemd woke up at 5:00am so she could work a double shit to keep the lights on.

The buzzing of her phone sparked a momentary flicker of hope. Katya gasped and chocked on a sob coughing as she slowly rolled over her hand blindly searching her night stand for her phone. Her fingers eventually hit the cool glass of the device and grabbed it. Katya pulled it close to her face her tears blurring her view.

It was her father, calling again for the 4th time that week to mock her and offer her a job in the family business. A business she worked her entire life to get away from. Katya's family was ruthless and cold hearted. They took what they wanted when they wanted it from whoever, and Katya wanted no part of that.

" FUCK YOU!" Katya screamed throwing her phone across the room into the wall. She pulled her knees to her chest and pulled the roots of her hair rocking back and forth. It was all too much, she needed Trixie, she needed to call her, but she couldn't.

As Katya rocked back and forth Trixie's wirds rang in her ears; " Now I'll always be there if you ever need a pick me up." Her eyes flew to the shelf across the room scanning it for the familiar hot pink box.

Katya released her knees and took a few deep breathes her chest still shuddering as she exhaled. She crawled across the bed and snatched box holding it tightly to her chest like she was protecting it from someone who wanted to steal it. She scurred back to her spot under the covers and took a deep breath before opening the box.

Katya's clammy hands gripped the lid pulling it up softly. Her eyes were met with the familiar sight of love. The bottom of the box scattered with polaroids and notes, each handwritten by Trixie, her loopy cursive making Katya's chest warm again.

Each polaroid she scanned drained water from her chest, and suddenly, she could breathe again. She picked up her favourite note recognizing it from the lipstick kiss Trixie left on the bottom corner.

I know times maybe tough, and it seems like your drowing and weighed down, like the whole world is mocking you for even trying. I know baby, I've been there, but now I'm here...with you. I'll drain your lungs and pull the weight of your chest pund by pound. I'll dry your tears before they can even wet your cheeks. I'll be there to hug you and hold you and love you. Because I love you baby. I know things are hard, but don't give up, because my life isn't worth living without you in it. A world without you Katya, is no place I'd like to be.

I love you.
Xoxo Trixie.

Wiping the tears from her eyes Katya held the note against her chest as she reached a polaroid.

It was a blurry picture of her and Trixie the night they met. Trixie was hanging off her shoulder, and Katya was drunkenly yelling bith of them ginning widley at the camera.

That night was the best night of Katya's life, it was the best decision she will ever credit herself for making, going to that party. That loud crowed house full if drunken collge student was were she met the love of her life. The woman who was her whole world and would do anything for her.

Katya cried as she read nore notes and looked at more pictures, but this time they were happy tears. Tears that put a wobbly smile in her face as she looked at the polaroid she took of Trixie shoving her face full of popcorn on Kim's couch.

" rough day?" Trixie spoke softly not wanting to scare Katya. She saw the box and the dried tears on Katya's face and connected the dots.

" Yea." Katya breathed dropping the note she was reading back in the box. She closed the lid and looked at Trixie her lip wobbling. " please hold me." She whispered tears falling down again.

" Always." Trixie walked to the bed pulling Katya against her chest. She held her trembling girlfriend and stroked her hair doing anything and everything she could.

" I know it's been tough latley, but I believe in you baby. Don't rush, take your time we are doing fine." Trixie assured.

" Tha- Thats not fair of me." Katya looked up at Trixie her hands gripping Trixie's shoulders like a life line.

" Yes it is baby, you just got laid off, your dad is calling, you need time...so take it." Trixie kissed Katya's forehead her eyes softening at the sight of Katya's disheveled hair.

" I- I'm being selfish." Katya sobbed starting again before Trixie could ask what she meant. " I miss you so much but its my fault your gone...I'm being selfish."

" No, No your not baby." Trixie pulled Katya in again. " Take your time, things will work out. I promise."

" Okay." Katya sighed pulling Trixie closer. She was too tired to argue but knew she would be back on that laptop tomorrow. " thank you Trixie."

" I'll always be here if you ever need a little pick me up." Trixie whispered kissing Katya's head pulling her closer. It'll all be okay.
