"Medium black with three sugars, please."

Isaac Hensick was your typical popular high schooler. He had tanned skin, girls on each arm and lungs full of cigarette smoke. But what most people didn't know was that he had a passion for drawing and a taste for black coffee. Most people, that is, except for Aspen.

Aspen Haste was your typical high school wallflower. Unknown by most of the student population, she spends her mornings on her usual coffee runs and her afternoons hidden in the library taking naps. When she accidentally bumps into the notorious Isaac Hensick, there's nothing she can do to stop him from getting what he wants.

And he wants her.

I began this story in 2015. I was 15, in Year 10 of high school. Now I'm 19, almost in my 3rd year of uni, and here we are again lmao.

I began this story because so many books included characters with mental illnesses where someone would come in, save the day and suddenly they would be cured. It doesn't work like that. So, I made my own!

Disclaimer: Yes, there will be some cliches. I wrote it when I was 15! Probably stop here if you know you don't like that!

Enjoy the story!

NOTE: Please don't self-diagnose! Panic attacks and nervousness don't necessarily mean you have anxiety! If it is interfering with your daily life, consider speaking to a doctor or someone you trust.

This story includes portrayals of anxiety, panic attacks and insomnia. It is based on my own experiences. I began this story when I was really struggling with my own anxiety and insomnia. Since then, I'm now half way through majoring in neuroscience and it's helped inform some aspects of the story!

If you are uncomfortable reading portrayals of anxiety, panic attacks and insomnia, please do not read this story.

Otherwise, please enjoy reading Caffeine!
