jaemin peered renjun's face. the tension was set aside when jaemin revealed his wide smile. the younger still hadn't moved an inch after setting foot near renjun.

the younger was now relaxing in cloud nine knowing his crush likes him back.

but was he certain he's that someone?

renjun startled jaemin when he bolted towards a boy with a noticeable mole below his right eye. he smiled after receiving a hug from renjun and his eyes curled up into a smile itself. cute.

it was scenic to see but not for jaemin. this just gave him another reason to never keep your hopes up and never assume things unless its actually been stated. was his heart crushed into thousands pieces? yes. but will it be fixed again? yes. hurting like this is a part of a teenagers life. jaemin was mature enough to know that.

though sadness peaked, he kept his composure and couldn't take his eyes off of the two.

"this is the someone I told you about ㅡ he's my boyfriend" renjun said, hands intertwined with the unknown boy.

"my name is jeno," the white haired boy then said, reaching out a hand for a hand shake.

jaemin zoned out and repeated, "my name is jeno"

renjun and jeno gave each other looks and chuckled to jaemin's unusual behaviour.

"I mean, jaemin. my name is jaemin. my bad," jaemin shyly corrected himself.

"well, nice talking to you nana. we'll get going now, bye!" renjun said and walked away.

jaemin sluggishly went to chenle who was dozing off sitting on the benches.

"how'd it go?" chenle asked when jaemin shook him awake.

"I don't want to talk about it," jaemin replied with hurt in his tone.

funnily enough, such small gestures from renjun were encapsulated by jaemin in a much more far-fetched fantasy. renjun ㅡ a simple happy crush that ended up kick starting jaemin's heart and resulting for it to break. but this was nothing but a mere happy crush. yes, he was disappointed, but he knows that by the end of tomorrow, it will nothing be but a bittersweet story to be reminded of.
