I'm downstairs keeping lookout while Charles is in a meeting with the CEO of some rich company

"Finished" he calls down and saunters down the stairs

"Meeting went well I guess" I said, rolling my eyes

He laughed "you have no idea, he's agreed to the partnership"

I smile "that's good...I think"

"Damn right it's good" he says "to celebrate it...why not a dinner out"

"No dinner, Charles we've talked about this" I reply

"Yeah yeah" he mutters back "bet you'd rather be with James anyway"

"It's not like that" I look away

"Sure" he says but it's clear he doesn't believe me "well I guess if I was to go out to dinner....you'd have to bodyguard me"

"No way" I respond immediately

"It's the job" he smirks

"Screw you, Charles" I say and get into the car with him

~Le restaurant de L'amour~

Great, trust Charles to take me to the fanciest restaurant in town... restaurant of love. All I see are couples holding hands, couples kissing and couples-

"Ophelia" says Charles interrupting my thoughts "what would you like?"

I look down briefly, so expensive
"Um, the tuna nicoise" I reply

"Great" he says "2 tuna nicoise please waiter"

"You didn't have to get the same as me" I respond with a half smile

"Well" he says "anything that you like...must taste great"

"Smooth" I laugh "you use that line a lot?"

"Only with the girls I like" he replies smiling

"Funny" I say, shrugging off his comment "I used to think you were an cruel, arrogant jerk"

"I'm offended" , he grins "well what do you think of me now?"

I look at him closely, he really was quite attractive I had to admit, his eyes a deep and catastrophic blue. This close, I could see the flecks of silver in them. He had distinct cheekbones and an angular jaw, his pale skin seeming to almost sparkle in the candlelight.

"Oh" I smile "I just think you're a normal jerk now"

He laughs "so hard to please, as ever"

I just laugh

"Seeing this is our first date" he says "why not a little champagne?"

"Who said anything about a date" I respond, arching my eyebrows          "I'm just doing my job"
