I DO NOT like this feeling. It's something about those eyes. I want to take another whiff of his body scent, hear that little soft voice he sometimes does, and even let him look at me the way he did the other day.I saw his silhouette just about a couple hundred feet away, and my heart started to rush faster than the speed of light. I turned away and started walking in the other direction, anything to avoid falling deeper into the hole named "Love."
I walked faster to get to the corner when I spotted Ty.
"Ty! Hey!" I hollered.
She whirled around with a bright smile, making her platinum blond ponytail fly sideways and coming my way too. I looked back to find Jorel speaking with his fellow Football mates. Great. I had to pull up my grey hoodie to prevent him from seeing my side profile, even from afar.
"Why are you pulling me?" Ty questioned.
I didn't stop but replied. "Trying to run away from someone who I do not want to see at the moment."
"What'd you do?" she smirked.
I hid my upper lip under my teeth. "Nothing."
She narrowed her eyes to slits but ignored my comment. "Where are we going, then?"
"Library. I heard they have the Alienated series there now," I acted natural and kept pulling her to the destination.
~~~
"I guess I like it so far." Ty thought. "But how did they meet the people of L'eihr in the first place?"
"I don't know. I had been wanting to read this series for a while. You want to read it together?" I say.
"There better be action."
If my day couldn't get any worse, I, once again, had a feeling of déjà vu when I hit face-first on a hard chest.
"Hey, Princess," Jorel teased.
I looked up and narrowed my eyes. "You did that on purpose."
"It didn't hurt," he smirked.
"How do you know if it didn't?" I ask.
"Did you complain about it?"
I pouted in a duck face. Ty chuckled beside me.
"I thought so," he concluded.
"What do you want, Jorel?"
"Nothing. I just wanted to say a... 'Hello' to my DJ. How's her day so far?"
"You dare to ask those questions, do you?" I say.
He cutely shrugged.
"Hey, listen. The game is a week after Spring Link. I'd like to see you there," he said, then left with a wink.
I stood there rooted to my spot, sight fixed on the place Jorel had been until Ty pulled me away. The school was rowdy today as many students speeded here and there across the hallways. Spring Link was tomorrow, and many were carrying around banners and cardboard signs announcing their kiosk and others decorating the school itself. It looked brighter than it normally was.
"Are you ready for tomorrow? The Spring Link will be crowded around the stage," Ty snickered.
"I'm just excited to see Jorel modeling up on stage as girls drool over him. I wonder what's the highest they could bid him for," I thought out loud.
"Oh, there's many. Like, many would die to bid the highest for a top student. I have no idea if they also entered Whitney."
"I'd buy Whitney."
