"WHY do you always eat that shit?" I asked, crinkling my nose.

Zach shrugged while he took a bite out of his peanut butter and bologna sandwich. Yes, bologna. "Because it's exquisite, Jesse. You wouldn't know 'cause you've never tried it."

"Because I'm a normal person with normal taste," I argued. "So, therefore, I will eat my cold pizza in peace."

"Yeah. Your cold, all-vegetable pizza," DeShawn pointed out. "Sorry, bro. But you're not normal. No one makes a pizza with only banana peppers, pineapple, jalapenos, and peppers."

"Um, I do," I said.

"And that's why you're not normal," DeShawn said.

"Will you please listen to me already?" Hannah said, waving her hand in front of my face.

"Sorry," I mumbled.

"We're double-dating tonight with Tiff and Max," Hannah said.

I furrowed my eyebrows. "And remind me who Max is again?"

"Dumbass, he's on your team!"

"No, I mean who is Max to Tiffany?" I asked again. "Last time I checked, she was hooking up with Derek Wheeler on the football team."

"Don't sass me," Hannah snapped. "And, I don't know. Tiff just said she thought he was super cute and he asked her out. But she obvs didn't want to go on a date with just him. So we're doubling and getting din."

Why does she have to shorten the word dinner to din? And obviously to obvs? I mentally rolled my eyes.

"So. Any ideas for where to go for dinner?"

I shrugged. "I'm not picky and you know that."

Hannah rolled her eyes, but not mentally. "I know you're not picky, but what you are is extremely passive. Can't you just make a decision?"

I sighed. "Olive Garden."

Hannah scoffed. "Olive Garden," she muttered. "Yeah right. Okay, fine. If you're gonna be annoying about it, I'll just figure it out and text you. Okay?" And with that, Hannah stood up with her lunch and stormed off. A behavior that was quite typical of her.

DeShawn raised his eyebrows at me. "She's in a mood today."

"Nope. That's just Hannah," Zach chimed in and I nodded in agreement. If we weren't making out, we were likely getting in some sort of stupid dispute. Most likely because of Hannah's instigation.

"I don't need to worry about it. She'll be fine when dinner comes around," I said. "Put a walnut salad in front of her and the girl lights up like a Christmas tree."

Zach scrunched his nose. "Walnut salad?"

"Walnut salad," I repeated, shaking my head. "Cheerleader's diet, I guess."
