Anne And Gilbert A Slow But Sweet Burn

Take notice

As i rush through the forest i spot diana in a distance and instantly run into her arms.
" we can't be seperated!" Diana exclaimed. Diana will be heading to paris for finishing school while i will be going to queens to further my studies.

" i know! I promise i will write to you everyday without fail " i dramatically state putting out my pinky finger. Diana takes my pinky and we start to walk to school. As we reached school josie calls us both over to the side of the school.

" look the old take notice board is up again! " josie says
" yeah, and someone has taken notice of
Josie" tillie says.
As the girls are giggling happily about who might take notice of them, ruby stomps her feet " when will gilbert take notice of me! " she says in the verge of tears.
Ruby has had a crush on gilber for 3 years and more now. " ruby, i bet i can help you with that " anne says bringing her into the classroom. As they head in anne spots gilbert on one of the benches talking to moody so she starts to plan wih ruby.
" hey anne" charlie says
" hey charlie " anne says looking back at ruby
" okay here i go" anne says and walk up to him.
" morning gilbert"
" morning anne"
" i was wondering if you were aware that the old take notice board is up and running" anne says looking up at gilbert's tall figure.
" take notice? " gilbert says enjoying the fact that he gets to talk to anne.
" yes, its when somebody takes notice of somebody else and writes something about them on the board. Its like a way for casual declaration."
" to someone you like " gilbert says
" yes, because all these posts matter to let someone know your thinking ahead"
" like their future together?" Gilbert says looking at anne with a smirk.
"Yes" anne says almost wishing she would be taken notice by him.
" so you are suggesting that i post ? " gilbert asks with a growing smile.
" yeah to RuBy, you know you might want to take your claim before someone else does " anne says remebering ruby was watching.
A wave of dissapintment went through gilbert's face as he stuffs his hands in his pockets and looks at anne
" thank you for the suggestion but in not exactly the take notice kinda guy and when the right person comes along someday, whenever that is, i will know. " gilbery says
anne simply noddes her head as she walks to ruby who starts talking aboit his romantic eyes right away, definetly not giving up soon.

~ time skip to after school~

The bell rings and ms stacy tells the non queens students to head home. Diana packs her things and head out the door waving at anne who waves back.
We start with the lesson and the whole time anne can't help stealing glances at gilbert.
After the study group anne heads back home.

~the next morning~

Anne wakes up and immediately jumps out of bed and goes to her window
" im finally 16!" She shouts
"Anne come down for breakfast"  marilla calls from downstairs. Amne made sure to wear her best dress and let her hair down. During breakfast anne cut a cake marilla and mathew had bought her and recieved her gifts.

Diana's pov

Diana heads to anne's house rehearshing the plan in her head. Then she started to scream for help " help,anne help"
Jerry comes out of the barn running towards diana " are you okay what's wrong diana"
" nothing is wrong, im trying to prank anne so we can suprise her"
Diana explains and then goes on to scream for help.
Anne scurries out the house with a worried look " what happened diana?"
" its minny may she's not feeling well, hurry we need to go to my house."
Jery whispered to marilla and mattew letting them know its a prank while anne and diana rush to diana's house.

The moment anne opens the door she is greeted by the joyous shouts of her classmates. " HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNE" they all shout. Anne was mixed with confusion and happiness, almost everybody was here, even gilbert made it. They cut a cake made by diana,ruby and others and start to eat the cake. Then the one and only gilbert blythe approaches anne with his signature smile. " happy birthday shirley" gilbert says " thank you blythe " anne replies.

" guys let's play spin the bottle" josie says calling everybody to gather and sit down in a circle. Anne ends up sitting next to charlie and moody with diana opposite her. Gilbert sat next to diana and tillie who was next to billy followed by ruby another guy and josie.

We each start spinning the bottle, first to go was diana, her bottle landed on moody who immediately started blushing. Then charlie spinned the bottle which lands on anne. Charlie shoots up and holds his hand out for anne whom willingly takes it. They both stand in the centre, charlie leans in, they both peck each other and get back in the circle. Charlie and anne start talking about random things as they watched the others spin the bottle. She then looked up at gilbert who looked at her for a split second then looks down. Then ruby spins the bottle and it lands on gilbert, anne can't help but curse that dam bottle but then again why should she care. Ruby and gilbert head to the centre and ruby stands there blushing while gilbert stood there awkwardly scratching his neck. Ruby then leans in to seal the kiss but a second later gilbert pulls away and sits back down. Its now his turn to spin the bottle and when he does it lands on anne.

Anne amd gilbert stand in the centre while they look at each other and then awkwardly look away......
