#41 - You buy a pet together

Zayn: "Zayn what is that?" you eye the circular box suspiciously before sighing, "If that's another bowler hat I swear...". You were already sick of his latest fashion obsession - It was not necessary to own six (well, possibly seven now) bowler hates. "No," he smiles shyly, "Look, we were talking about it. And I only went to have a look, promise. I was going to wait for you but then I saw her and I couldn't say no,". You look at him, frowning slightly, "Her?". He doesn't answer, instead carefully placing the box on the floor and removing the lid. You peer in at what initially appears to be a ball of grey (with ginger flecks) ball of fluff. "Aw," you coo, picking up the kitten in your arms and tickling it's belly while it purred happily. "So you're not mad?" Zayn grins, leaning over to mess with one of it's paws. "No," you laugh gently, "How could you say no to this?".

Louis: "I'm so excited," you grin, clutching Louis' arm a tad tighter, "I can't believe we're actually doing this!". "I know," he beams back, "This is a big deal... Look at us being all grown up!". The two of you reach the door and knock. A kind-faced old lady answers the door, "Can I help you?". Louis smiles gently, taking on the stance he always does when he's speaking to an adult, "Yes, we're here to collect our puppy. You said today would be fine? The names Tomlinson,". She looks slowly down her list before smiling, ushering you both into the living room, "Ah yes, thats right. He's the one with the green collar on,". You kneel down beside the pen of excitable puppies - all except the one with the green collar. Your puppy was quite content chasing it's own tail, falling over its own feet multiple times. "Looks as if we've got the daft one," you tease, instantly falling in love with your new pet. Louis laughs beside you, "Sounds about right for us then!".

Liam: "This is so sad," Liam whispers, holding his arm around you a bit tighter as you walk through the animal shelter. He was right, it was heartbreaking to see all these pets that had been abandoned - but when you and Liam had decided to get a pet, you'd both wanted to give a home to one that really needed it. You pause beside one of the cages. Most of the other dogs came forward, barking as you passed, but not this one. It look like a small version of an alsatian, with one floppy ear that added to it's charm. Slowly, it came forward and sniffed your hand calmly. "Ah, thats Poppy," the volunteer offers, "We rescued her - old owner used to hit her, that's why she has a floppy ear bless her - she's a bit timid, but once she learns to trust you she's a big softie,". You look up at Liam with watery eyes, and he nods as he kneels down beside you, pressing his hand to the cage for her to sniff too, "So Poppy, how'd you feel about coming home with us?". You swear her tail starts wagging.

Niall: "But you're in charge of feeding and watering it," Niall insists, holding the cage up to eye level to watch the two newly bought hamsters. You scoff, "They're not plants Niall, you don't need to water them for them to grow,". "You know what I meant," he shrugs, still watching the new pets intently. "I love how i'm getting all the responsibility," you tease, not really minding, "When you were the one who wanted them so desperately. He looks at you dead seriously. "I killed my fish when I tried to look after them. If we want (Y/N) Junior and Niall Junior to survive, you have to step up,". You can't help but laugh at his sincerity.

Harry: "Ah, look at them, they're adorable," you sigh, settling onto the settee beside Harry. The two of you watch them, amused as the two kittens play happily on the carpet in front of you. "Yeah, they are now!" Harry laughs, "They were a nightmare in the car!". You oke his side and he winces slightly, "They were scared,". He rolls his eyes, "Come on, grab one - we need to take our first family picture,". It took some time, but eventually you were grinning at Harry's phone, each of you holding a kitten. He quickly tweets the image along with the caption 'Welcome to the new pussy.. cats x'.
