Ch. 2 - Seongwu

2장 - 성우

as soon as she passed out, daniel caught her. i stood there frozen. here she was, moon eundal, the most annoying person in this school, the least helpless person in this school, passed out. helpless.

"let's get her to the nurse," daniel said, picking her up bridal style. i nodded and grabbed his and eundal's bags and ran down the stairs to the nurse's office with him.

"nurse, eundal passed out!" i shouted, bursting into the room. the nurse got up quickly and prepared a bed.

"put her here, lemme have a look," she examined eundal after daniel carefully placed her on the bed and tucked her in. "it's because of hunger. she should eat something as soon as she gets up."

"why would she be hungry?" daniel wondered ou loud. "it's not like the cafeteria food costs money."

"eggs," i realised. "they served eggs at the cafeteria today."

"so?" daniel asked, reminding me of the stupid questions eundal asked.

"she doesn't like eggs," i told him, rushing out the door. "i'm gonna go buy her a triangular kimbap (rice molded into a triangle and them wrapped with dried laver) from the convience store."

daniel nodded and i ran to the nearest convience store. there were kimchi, tuna, veggie and kimchi tuna triangular kimbap. i bought 2 kimchi tuna for daniel and i. unable to decide which one i should buy for eundal, i bought all four.

"seongwu!" daniel greeted, taking the bag from me and putting them on the bedstand. i smiled a bit and gasped, out of breath.

"i don't get it," niel said, shaking his head. "you slap her and then buy her triangular kimbap? is this what they mean by 'giving an illness then a medicine'? (korean saying)"

"maybe," i sat down on one of the two chairs besides the bed eundal was on. her messy brown ponytail became loose and her pale freckled face seemed so calm. she looked like the old eundal. the real eundal.

eundal woke up and stared at the ceiling before taking a look around the room.

"you're in the nurse's office," daniel said, helpfully. his smile made eundal smile a bit too.

"i know," she replied horsely. i handed her a water bottle which you glugged it down quickly. "thanks?"

"hungry?" daniel asked, holding out the bag of triangular kimbap. "choose one."

she choose the tuna one and took a careful bite before devouring the whole thing. daniel and i both took ours and started eating too,

daniel smiled and said, "eat slowly, there's three more, we aren't gonna steal it."

eundal paused and sallowed the food in the mouth before saying, "thanks, daniel."

"thank seongwu," daniel replied, lightly bumping me. "he was the one who knew you didn't eat eggs and ran all the way to the store to buy you all four triangular kimbap!"

i choked on my kimbap and coughed. eundal stared at me before a laugh escaped her mouth.

"think this is funny? why don't you choke too then?" i said, jokingly. eundal laughed, so did daniel. i did too. 

that was the real eundal. no matter what she thinks, i know real eundal wasn't annoying. i know that for sure. jinjja, wanjun, real, daebak, heol sure.

after eundal got better, daniel and i left for the internet cafe. we played games for an hour when daniel asked, "you know, eundal isn't actually annoying."

"yeah," i agreed. "she's super annoying."

"no, she's really nice and funny," daniel agrued, killing a zombie im the game.

"fine, she's really annoying, nice at being mean and funny in a way it's not funny," i said, attacking another monster.

"so annoying you ran to the convience store for her?" niel asked, sending a emoji raising it's eyebrows.

"exactly why she's annoying," i sent a eyerolling one as well as a special butt shaking character i bought. "she was unwell and i didn't do that i'd be gulity."

"well, how about we turn her into a not annoying version of her?" daniel asked as we logged out of the computers.

"you can, i won't," i said, packing my stuff.

"come one~!" daniel whined. "spicy rice cakes~!"

i rolled my eyes, "fiiiiiiine, but only for the cheesy kinds."

"deal!"

and that's when daniel's, sorry, our plan to turn eundal to her normal self at school started. apparently daniel talked to eundal about it. i was there too....

sleeping on the couch.

"so, that's all we have to do," daniel finished, looking at me.

"sorry?" i asked, wondering why he was looking at me.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"you weren't listening, were you?" he asked, teasingly.

"err..."

"i'll text you it later," daniel said, smiling and getting off the bus. "bye!"

i laughed and waved good bye too. that daniel, always smiling.

the thing is, how should i this, i wanted eundal to be her old self... but i was still a bit mad at her for last week. last week was embarrassing... and she caused it all.

the next day, i saw daniel going to eundal. i didn't get it. why would you go to eundal in school? wasn't he annoye- nah, probably not, he never gets annoyed. only smiles.

"seriously?" i heard eundal say before bursting into a fit of laughter. i smacked my pencil against my paper and looked over to them in the corner of the classroom. 

why did he have to be so good with girls?

"playboy," i muttered, sharpening my pencil.
