There was a figure sitting beside a window, hidden in the shadows. And had Bilbo not known that this figure did not belong in his garden, he could have easily mistaken it for a statue. Or not have seen it at all. But now he had seen it, it made him antsy. He already had to deal with the dwarves, who were apparently counting on him to come on a quest to reclaim their homeland from a fire breathing dragon. A shady figure was not what he needed right now. So he, very rudely, interrupted Thorin Oakenshield's speech by saying softly "There's somebody outside." It was enough to silence the entire table. It was also, in that exact moment, that Rána's fate was decided. And Thorin Oakenshield walked towards the window as silently as possible.
