After the Rain
The storm is strong
And lasts oh so long
It's heavy and hard
And tears things apart
While you're alone
You feel so cold
Even though somebody is right there
You know they can't share
What you feel
In this Gail
The storm gets rough
And you get injured
But you are tough
So you don't give in
The person next to you
Says it's alright
But you don't believe him
So you put up a fight
You fight your comforter
Keep him at arms' length
Still, he tries and tries
To lend you his strength
The thunder stops
The rain is gone
You see your spot
And realize
You were NEVER alone
Because he was there
Helping, cheering, and enduring
All of you anger and fear
While it was raining
But after the rain
After the pain
You realize
You are the only one to blame
So you hide
You try and fight
The one who loves you
With all his might
Through the storm
He kept you warm
So after the rain,
Why fight him again?
Even though you're scared
Even though you're scarred
He who loves you can see
The Beauty of your heart
And After the rain
He's right there
Telling you you're not alone
And that he has shared
All the pain
And all the hurt
And that not even gems
Can match your worth
That you're worth more
Than anything he could gain
But you could only, truly know
After the rain.
After the rain
When you star again
When the sun is out
And there's no more wind
You will find
That what you hide
Is the real you
She's on the inside
And though there's rain
Though there's pain
He will be with you
To keep you safe
So after the rain
You can enjoy, forever
Life with the one
Who said "Leave? Never."
