I remembered being swallowed in a black hole of darkness.
My mind grew fuzzy from the gas, my arms and legs can barely move an inch, and the worst part: I have just started my period.
For the past week, my stomach has been moody lately.
Cramps are the worst; especially when you are unconscious. I can't imagine someone staring at the bloodstain on my jeans and started freaking out.
But when I woke up, I wasn't wearing any clothes-just a drab hospital gown and black shorts. The dirty and sweat on my skin has been scrubbed away, giving off a lavender smell.
Surrounding me is a room with white walls, cold blue tiled floors, and a small gray standing across from me.
My kinky hair brushed past my shoulders as I checked for any bloodstains inside my pants.
The good news is the shorts are clean; however, my excitement changed when I caught a huge smudge of blood staining my underwear.
"Jesus fucking Christ, " I swore.
This is just perfect: not only am I trapped in some creepy room, but I have just started menstruating.
I remember packing some menstrual pads in my bag somewhere, but I don't even know where they took my stuff.
Then all of a sudden, a young man entered the luminescent white room sporting a white science lab coat, black slacks, and dark brown leather shoes.
He has short brown hair, blue eyes, and translucent skin. Dark purple circles gave him the impression of a raccoon as the scientist looked a little exhausted.
Studying me for a second, the man smiled.
"You must be Nadine Alejandra Jackson, huh?" he guessed.
I stare at him for a second. "Are you Mr. Jefferies?"
Surprised, the scientist crouched down in front of me. "So you have heard of me?"
I nodded bitterly. "My aunt told me about what you people do to kids like me."
Mr. Jefferies bowed his head. "You must think I am a monster, huh?"
"Yeah, " I answered bitterly. "Besides, you ruined our lives!"
"I am supposed to be doing AP Chemistry and spending time with my friends and family. But ever since we followed your friends to the lake-"
Mr. Jefferies rudely cuts me off.
"Friends?" he snorts. "Those men were not my friends. I told them to dispose of the slime. But instead, I had to spend 3.5 million dollars removing that toxic waste out of the water."
"And after that, you killed them?"
Mr. Jefferies bobbed his head without remorse.
"Why?" I scream. "Why would you do this?"
