She walked over to him with a confident swagger, but inside she was close to tears from fear of humiliation.
"Will you go out with me?" Her voice shook the tiniest bit.
"No." A flat tone to match his flat personality.
"I'll go out with you," a boy yelled out. "If you get a life!" He and his friends all laughed like it was the funniest thing ever and she slumped forward a millimetre with pain flashing in her eyes, even though the the line wasn't all that creative or smart.
I wish she would come over and ask me out. I know she wouldn't though, and even if she ever would it would never be in front of those boys. I would just have to ask her.
