6 hours later:

Maddie and I made our way back to Buck's room, after grabbing some much needed coffee.
"You drove like a maniac." Maddie laughed as I rolled my eyes.
"If it was Chimney, you'd do the same thing." I bumped her shoulder.
"He's awake." Maddie said as I opened the door.
I smiled going over to Buck's side placing my coffee down.
"Hi." I cupped his cheeks.
"Hey." He smiled as I leaned down to capture his lips.
I pulled away before sitting down, grabbing his hand.
"You were in surgery for a while. Too long." He squeezed my hand.
"Thank you for being here." I smiled.
"I would like it noted that he didn't thank either of us."
"Girl, I don't think he knows - we're still in the room."
"Right?" I turned to them.
"We can hear you ya know." I said.
"We know." Maddie smiled.
"Thank you two for being here as well." He opened his arms for Maddie.
"You had me worried sick." She replied grabbing the other chair.
"I know, I'm sorry." He said.
"Don't be." Maddie sighed.
"We're just happy, you're safe that's all." Buck nodded.
"Well we haven't slept for hours, so we should probably get some sleep." Maddie said as I looked at her.
"You go, I'll stay." I said.
"You sure?" I nodded.
Maddie left as I went and laid down beside Buck.
"Light on or off?" I asked.
"On." I nodded.
"Goodnight." I smiled.
"Goodnight." He kissed my forehead.

2 days later;

"Easy, okay?" I said as Buck made his way inside the apartment.
"I don't need you to fall and break the other one." I said closing the door.
"I am just glad to be out of the hospital!"
"Yeah?" I placed his stuff down.
"I miss my own bed which I won't see for the next three months." He made his way to the living area.
"Guess I am sleeping down here."
"Three months without you kicking me is a dream." I fluffed a pillow.
"Lesson learned; never sign a lease if you intend on being crushed by municipal equipment?" I rolled my eyes.
"Mm. Uh, or better idea? How about not get crushed by municipal equipment?" I asked sitting down beside him.
"Huh. Now, why didn't I think of that?" He asked as I gave him a kiss.
"I don't know." I laughed.
"So have you, uh, have you thought about what's next? When you take this thing off?" I asked him.
"Why? Did-did the doctor say something to you?"
"No." I shook my head.
"Um, I don't... i don't know, you know. I guess a lot of physical therapy and then..."
"You'll probably want to just get right back out there." I said as he nodded.
"Yeah, of-of course, I mean..."
"You know, wh-what else?" I asked him.
"Uh, what? Come on, what's going on?" He ran a hand through my hair.
"I watched you almost die." I said looking in his eyes.
"Yeah, but I didn't." He said.
"But you could have."
"But I didn't." I let out a sigh.
"I know, I-I know. Thank God. Look." I grabbed his hand.
"Being a firefighter is your life, I know." I sat down beside him.
"I was just so scared, watching you being stuck underneath the truck. .. but if you still wanna go out there, I'll be behind you every step of the way." I said.
"Come here." He opened his arms as I crawled onto his lap.
"I will be fine, with you by my side. Nothing will happen, all right?" I nodded.
"All right." I rested my head on his shoulder.
"We can still keep us a secret." My eyes widened as I looked up.
"Yeah, about that..." He rose an eyebrow.

The Next Day:

I was at the doctors office, nervously biting my nails as I waited for the doctor.
They were running some tests so I was stuck in the room.
Eddie's ceremony to become an official member of the 118 was today, and it started in 20 minutes.
The door opened as she walked in, with a huge smile on her face.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing is wrong, you're pregnant!" My eyes almost fell out of the sockets.
"Pre-pregnant? How is that possible? With my." I gestured to my body.
"It's very common for women with anorexia to become pregnant." I nodded.
"How far along am I?" I asked.
"Two months, now I want you back here in a month." She handed me something.
"This is just a paper saying that you are pregnant, since it looks like you need to get somewhere to be." I stood up.
"In a month we'll give you a sonogram."
She left the room as I stared at the paper in my hands.
"Welp, Uncle Bobby's gonna kill me." I huffed heading out.
