A powerful man that was already in the army at the time the wars started and an even more dangerous man when faced in combat. Same could be said when he was working alongside his two partners in crime, Savio and Vega. Together, they were a formidable trio that left terror in their wake when deployed on missions.

Cormac was confident in his abilities and trusted his companions with such intensity that they never failed a mission, until now.

They were stationed in Moscow, their unit was in charge of guarding a small nuke that was going to be deployed in a matter of minutes. Although Cormac was against the idea of using nuclear arms to fight in this war, he still had a job to do and he wouldn't let his own personal convictions sway, especially since he couldn't afford to risk the lives of his two most trusted companions.

So here they were, it was the dark of night and the moon barely did anything to highlight potential dangers that could be lurking by. If anything, the light from the moon always comforted Cormac so seeing as the very luminescent light wasn't doing much to help him, put him on edge.

"What do ye think might be lurking in the dark?" Cormac asked from his spot, neatly hidden behind a large pillar.

Vega looked at him with utmost annoyance and a sarcastic reply on the tip of their tongue.

"Oh I don't know, maybe the Bogeyman?" They answered in utter contempt, absolutely miffed of having to stand in the cold just to guard a damn bomb. Savio rolled his eyes at the answer but whispered back his own thoughts.

"I heard there was a special British unit heading this way. They apparently only use them when a mission is drastic enough, and the main objective seemed to have been to disarm the bomb." Savio murmured, briefly wondering why the special troop would even want to disarm it when they could just steal it for their alliance.

"How did ye find out 'bout that?" Cormac questioned his companion confused. It wasn't normal to see a troop that went an extra mile to ensure safety by diffusing a bomb, especially with their current times. He didn't doubt Savio though, the man was an excellent informant and knew everything about every allegiance.

"I did some digging, I found out the names of the members too but I couldn't find anything on the Captain. I don't know who the captain is or what either. There was absolutely no information whatsoever and the more I tried to hack and find out, the more I got locked out of the system. The fire walls protecting that information was something else." Savio spoke gravely, a deathly look in his eyes showing just how bad the situation might be if that special unit was coming for them.

A small pop was heard echoing in the darkness, making them all snap their heads in the direction of the sound. A tiny version of a wooden matryoshka doll rolled close to them, the painted face looked so sinister for something that really shouldn't scare them. Then it exploded in a sudden bang and smoke clouded their vision and any light the moon had to offer.

Vega panicked for a moment before picking up their gun and aiming at anything that made the smoke move a bit too oddly. Cormac was on high alert with his back pressed against his two subordinates.

He felt uneasy, something that was extremely difficult to make him feel and he could almost smell the blood lust rolling off in waves and figures approached them. He could faintly hear arguing and a small hiss followed by the scent of blood. Did one of them get injured while attacking? Well that was pretty stupid of them.

But then she stepped forward and he felt the very fear he was trying to ignore take over his mind and made his body break out into a cold sweat. She looked so calm despite the blood streaking her face and the narrowing of her eyes behind black framed glasses. Behind her walked her team, each of them beaten bloody and bruised and almost seemed to be knocking on deaths door.

They were complaining that she was pushing them too far, complaining that they didn't see the point in having to retrieve this nuke when it was going to be used for war anyway. She turned to them with a sharp glare that had them stuttering into silence.

"It doesn't need to be used for war. We're here to disarm it, I briefed all of you but you had your heads too far up your asses to even actually fucking listen. I told you my policy already, I only kill when vices outweigh the virtues so don't let me make you part of that collection." She spoke, her tone even despite the bone chilling words she uttered.

It made Cormac suck in a breath, and it was that sharp hiss of air passing through teeth that gave away their location. Dark eyes narrowed and focused on them, cherry lips pulled into a frown but smoothing out into a blank slate that gave away no emotions.

She stepped forward despite the growling insults that were hurled at her from her own team mates. She didn't even bat an eye as one of them rushed her with a pen knife grasped tightly in their hand, she simply turned and slid her own blade clean across his neck. For a moment it seemed as though she had done no harm, her movements simply done to scare her adversary but in the blink of an eye her attacker was face down in the dirt with blood spilling and pooling around him.

She wasted no time in turning around and ruthlessly slashing at her team, she showed no remorse or any sign that she felt guilty for her crimes. When there was nothing but a pile of bodies lying at her feet did she start speaking once again.

"Each and every one of them hated the fact that I was made captain, something that they couldn't believe as they felt they were more capable than me. I don't regret what I did, each of these men and women that lay before you had done such heinous things that even made someone like me cringe in disgust. Even in the world we live in today, there is still room for hope and hope is generally destroyed when people like them exist. The Earth can still be saved, I'm going to at least try to do so." She muttered, her voice being carried in the wind and letting them know her thoughts.

Savio and Vega were a little disturbed that she had moved so quickly and disposed of her comrades in the blink of an eye, Cormac on the other hand was impressed by both her ability and her dedication to a cause that even he believed was not possible.

She moved past them without a word, she had no reason to kill them so she went on her merry way to complete her mission. Well she was going to until Cormac stopped her, a large hand wrapping around her bicep and halting her in her tracks. Her dark eyes bore into him as she glared, they almost seemed tired and forlorn as she tugged herself free to face him properly.

"Don't just touch me, you don't know what I am capable of." She muttered, her painted lips were pulled into a frown but her threat seemed empty.

"I've seen what you can do, your demonstration was very convincing of just how dangerous you truly are. But that's not why I stopped you." Cormac spoke, he was pleading in his own way, mostly because he could now see a way to salvation and this girl was what they needed.

A shapely raven eyebrow rose in interest and confusion, her eyes were focused but he could see the tell-tale signs of an internal struggle. She didn't want to listen, thinking that it might be a trap and she became more closed off when various scenarios began to play out in her head.

"Let us join you to disarm that bomb. I'm getting tired of guarding a big ass gas bomb." He mused and he saw a sliver of a smile grace her face.

Savio wanted to protest but Vega stopped him, their hand holding him at arm's length as they surveyed their new team member. Well hopefully she agreed first.

"You want to help me, huh?" She mused with a slight lilt in her cold voice, showing that she wasn't completely dead inside. She turned with a smirk and led the way, heading inside the building with little to no difficulty as Savio hacked and opened the doors for her under the command of Cormac.

Together, they diffused the bomb with Vega's expertise on weapons and they fled the area as quickly as possible, leaving the building with a now useless nuke.

Once they were out and hidden in the deep white piles of snow, did Cormac and his team begin to laugh. Never had they rebelled like that and it honestly felt good to take a step to less violent path.

Cormac turned to find the raven haired captain that accompanied them, eager to make her part of the team for good when he realized that she wasn't there. Almost like she disappeared with the wind.

But Cormac was sure that would not be the last time he would see her.
