"The devil was once an angel."

A prominent catchphrase that sounds terrifically cool. Though apparently there is more to the catchphrase in descriptive and factual terms.

From a very young age, I've been interested in researching and going quite in-depth in religious matters.
Yet, a slightly confused Christian myself, I've always believed there was more to a sentence than the count of words in them.

The most interesting story that caught my eye was the origin of the devil. My mind having its theories, I pened my thoughts and imaginations down. That is, into a beautiful yet bitter fictional story, based on romance and action that can let you know clearly how much wonders love alone can do, as long as it is true and faithful.

It doesn't matter who you are and what your position or role might be.

To begin with. There is God, the almighty Father most high, who hears the most silent prayers, the most merciful who knows our every action before we even attempt to do.

And then there is the story of the fallen angel, Satan, who desired to be the one above God himself, expelled out of heaven that sent him down to the far reaches of the pit, Sheol and famously believed that he reigns over it as his kingdom like how God reigns over the heavens.

Now you're probably wondering why? if God the most almighty knew what was to be, didn't stop his angel from doing a grave sin that has believed to have led the world to how it is now? Now before you think any negative aspects about God, Keep in mind that God is merciful and just and this statement is true indeed. He would've known what his most beautiful creation would do, might have known well about his deepest desires, and would've even tried to stop him from doing what he was going to do too!

Absolutely nothing is impossible for the creator, right? But then again if God did stop him, would that have been just? Even in the final moments of climax, God still gave Satan his privilege to choose the choice on his own.

We can take, for instance, a relationship between a father and his son. if the father does not allow his son to make choices of his own out of fear of thoughts of what if his son makes the wrong choice, and in his stead make the choices for him for a better future for his child. Now, what will be of the son? What will the son achieve, learn or what can he possibly do without his father's help? Where will be his role?

This story of the twain is truly a beautiful, bittersweet one. The bible portrays the Satan as the "one who knows nothing but evil". But it is quite dubious if we recall the catchphrase we've been talking about. Some like me might think...is the devil that bad as he is known to be if he was said to be once, an angel?

The book that you chose to read today might make you think twice about your understandings of what you thought the relationship with heaven and hell...truly is.
