Chapter Four: Chunin Exams; The Final Rounds

Tomorrow it'll be a month since the day of the preliminary round; and when tomorrow comes, the final rounds will begin.
There still is a little bit more than enough time to train. Since Shino, nii-san and I are all in the final rounds, we've all been training pretty hard since the day after the preliminary round. I train with Kurenai-Sensei. Nii-san is being trained by Kakashi-Sensei. Shino is being trained by his parents. Though they take turns training him; his mother one day, his father the next day, and so on. Kurenai-Sensei would be training with him too, but his parents want him to get better with the bugs. He was pretty good before the Chuunin Exams, but his parents want him to become stronger with their bug friends.
At the end of each day, Shino and I spend time with each other.
Kurenai-Sensei knows about my relationship with Shino. We both convinced her that we would do our best not to be distracted by each other and do our best on missions and not to show too much PDA. And so far, it's going great with how it's working out for people learning our relationship. Shino's clan is also fine with me being with Shino. It took about a week to convince them that we're perfect for each other, but it's all fine for now.
There's one other thing that has been in my mind the past few weeks. The morning after the preliminary rounds... Apparently, Sasuke had walked into my bedroom that morning and found Shino in bed with me; we were both still sleeping after finally getting to sleep after two in the morning. Both of us were naked and in each other's arms, though the sheet was covering us from the waist down.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" I can still hear the anger and shock in voice. Both Shino and I woke up at the same moment. I have to admit, I was pretty scared when I woke up to his voice. I thought nii-san was going to kill us before the final round even began. "Tell me you didn't..." Sasuke said. I wanted to, but all I said was, "Well, at least we all know me or Shino won't get pregnant." "Even if I were a girl, Isamu is probably a year or two too young to impregnate me." Shino said. His words made me get a little embarrassed and I mentally face palmed myself. Sasuke mumbles and he closes my door and goes to his room, "What a way to get greeted after getting out the hospital." That morning, we went back to sleep, then woke up again at noon. Though nii-san wasn't there when we woke up again. All that we found was a note on the kitchen table saying that he'll be training with Kakashi-Sensei for a while, but he'll be back each night for rest. I really thought that Shino and I would be goners that morning nii-san found me and Shino in bed; and now I feel like I scarred nii-san for life. At the end of that day, we all decided not to tell anyone.
But the thing is, nii-san hasn't been home the last four nights. I'm a little bit worried about him.
Kurenai-Sensei has helped me perfect the ninjutsu I was working on from the past few months, and now I can do it without struggle. I can only do it a times though. I also have to use it very carefully. It's only that could seriously injure someone... That, or it can kill them.
Kurenai-Sensei is also trying to help me improve my genjutsu, along with using my weapons properly.
"That's enough training for tonight. I think you'll be great for the final round. Just get enough rest for the night, 'kay Isamu?" Says Kurenai-Sensei. I nod, "Don't worry, I will."
We both go our separate ways for the night. I go home and get in bed immediately.

We're all here except nii-san; in line from right to left, it's Shino, me, Shikamaru, Naruto, Dosu, Genma but more further back, Neji, Gaara, Kankuro and Temari. "Hey! Stop fidgeting! Stand still and face forward towards the guests for all of you are the stars of the Chunin Exam Finals." Genma says to us. We all look up to the stands and see hundreds of people watching and roaring with excitement.
Genma tells Naruto and Neji to stay down at the battle ground and tell the rest of us to go to the waiting area for our battle.
Soon, we're all up at the waiting area. "Naruto won't be able to win this battle with a fart in Neji's face." Shino says as he stands beside me. I smirk and think to myself, 'I wonder if Naruto will be able to beat Hyuga in this round? Good luck, Naruto.'
Naruto and Neji face each other in the middle of the arena to start their battle. Naruto uses his Shadow Clone Jutsu, but the clones get defeated by Neji noticing the real Naruto was at the back of him and all of the other clones. Naruto makes a whole lot more clones than before, and all but one Naruto starts to attack. Neji tries to attack the Naruto at the back who was doing nothing. But just as he thought he won, the Naruto disappears into a cloud of smoke; a shadow clone. The real Naruto attacks Neji, but Neji does Rotation. Naruto tries to attack again, but Neji does 8 Trigrams, 64 Palms, and now Naruto looks like he is hurt badly. He still gets up.
Throughout the battle, and even as I'm watching this, Neji is trying to convince Naruto to withdraw since it's destiny that Naruto will never win or become Hokage. Naruto questions Neji why he's so obsessed with destiny and fate. Neji explains how main and cadet branch work, and how Neji's father -younger twin of the main branch- was sacrificed they could protect the main branch. Neji attacks Naruto by attacking one of his chakra points. As stubborn as Naruto is, he doesn't give up easily, so he stands up to fight. Neji questions how Naruto would ever understand a curse put onto him, then Naruto says, "actually, I understand it pretty well, and so what? You're the one who needs to quit lecturing; you're not the only one who's 'special', you know!" Naruto's words anger Neji, then Naruto explains to Hyuga that Hinata too is suffering as much as he is. Then finally Naruto said that the Cadet branch is supposed to be protecting he Main branch of the Hyuga clan, how Neji was just using the Chunin Exams as an excuse to kill Hinata, and how Neji is being a hypocrite about fate.
One last time, Neji tries to convince Naruto to quit, but he doesn't. Naruto suddenly gets more chakra back. I don't know how, but this chakra seems too different to be Naruto's...
Naruto tries to attack Neji face-to-face; but in defence, Neji uses rotation, 'causing Naruto to move more to the wall and run along the wall. Hyuga tries to attack Naruto with shurikens, but they miss because Naruto is too fast. This it strange; from what I've seen from Naruto and heard what nii-san and others has to say about Naruto... It seems as if Naruto has really improved himself. Both attack each other the same way, then as they attack each other once more, both are now down. Neji gets up and checks for Naruto; Naruto is unconscious. There's a sound underneath Neji that catches his attention. Naruto attacks Neji from underground, causing Neji to fall. Neji is conscious, but is incapable of moving his body due to the injury caused by Naruto. Neji loses. Everyone is applauding Naruto for his win against Neji, causing Naruto to be excited and blow kissing into the air. Honestly, I think everyone watching this battle is surprised that Naruto defeated Neji Hyuga.
A few minutes pass, and nii-san isn't here. Genma was about to say Sasuke forfeits, but another Chunin interrupts, then Genma announces that Sasuke match is postponed, and to start the next battle. Kankuro and Shino's battle is next. But Kankuro withdraws. So it goes to my battle with Dosu.
Both Dosu and I go down to the ground and face each other. Gemna announces to let the battle begin. I look at his equipment on his arms and remember what he did with them during his battle with Choji. It's pretty obvious that he can use sound as a weapon. This is pretty dangerous from the thought of it; sound is so fast, and it can be pretty useful or dangerous depending on what you use it for. I close my eyes and activate the Sharingan.
Dosu grabs a few of his shurikens and throws them at me. Thanks to my Sharingan, I can see how he threw the shurikens for where they're going to hit; so I dodge them before they can hit me. "Let's see if you can dodge this!" Dosu says as he activates his sound armour. I quickly plug my ears with both of my index fingers just before he turns his armour on. I can't hear much, but I can still hear a little bit of his sound. It affects me a little bit, but I don't give up. I look straight into Dosu's eyes and put him under a genjutsu. The genjutsu works, but the problem is that his armour is still on with the sound.
I keep my index fingers plugged into my ears, close my eyes and think. It's obvious that I have to use the jutsu Kurenai-Sensei helped me improve from the last month. I sigh, unplug my ears and quickly make the hand signs of the jutsu I created. Ram-boar-tiger-horse-monkey-tiger-snake. "FireWind: Dance Of The Fire Dragonflies Jutsu!" I yell. Five human-sized dragonflies made up both fire and air come out of my mouth and go for Dosu.
Since my second element is wind, I made this jutsu to use fire to harm the enemy, and instead of having to make more of the Fire Dragonflies like I do with the Pheonix Flower Jutsu; I only have to do this jutsu once thanks to the wind to control where the dragonflies go. I make two of them go for Dosu's equipment, and since it's made of metal, it melts. With the other three, attack Dosu. The hot, melted metal and the other three dragonflies attacking Dosu causing Dosu to fall unconscious. Genma announces that I win this round; and like the crowd when Naruto won, they cheered for me.
With Dosu's condition, medic-nin come rushing and get Dosu to get him to the infirmary before he dies or loses his arms from the melting metal. Though, I doubt that he'll be able to use his arms to do regular things like the way he used to. This jutsu Kurenai-Sensei helped me improve is pretty dangerous. If I use the Dance Of The Fire Dragonflies Jutsu, it can cause pretty bad damage from both fire and being able to control where it goes thanks to the wind. Though, like I mentioned, it only works when I have the Sharingan activated.
I look around to see if nii-san has gotten here yet during my battle, but there's still no sign. Though, I can see around ten Anbu Black Ops agents.
I can feel blood coming out of my ears from when Dosu used his metal weapons. And thanks to Dosu's sound, I can feel the dizziness start to come in. My hands go to my head to try make the dizziness stop. "Isamu, are you going to be okay?" Asks Kurenai-Sensei. I look to my left and see Kurenai-Sensei, and I nod while saying, "Yeah, just a little dizzy from Dosu's sound. I'm just gonna need help getting back to the wait area." She grabs my shoulder and helps me walk up the stairs. Just over halfway up the stairs, and the dizziness finally goes away. "Thanks Kurenai-Sensei. I'll be fine for now." I say, then she lets go of me. I can tell she's still worried about me. We walk up the rest of flight of stairs, but for the first ten steps, I can feel Kurenai-Sensei's eyes on me. Though, I can understand that she's worried about me.
"Awesome job you did down there, Isamu! I wish Sasuke was here to see you!" Naruto shouts as he sees Kurenai-Sensei walk into the waiting area. "It was all thanks to Kurenai-Sensei helping me perfect that jutsu last month. And my nii-san hasn't gotten here yet?" I say giving Kurenai-Sensei a smile, then looking for nii-san. Kurenai-Sensei looks around then says, "No problem, and it doesn't look like it. Kakashi isn't here either; so I'm guessing that Kakashi still has stuff to do with Sasuke."
I look at Gaara. He's supposed to be battling nii-san. I wonder if he did anything to nii-san, because I haven't seen nii-san in a few days. But than again, nii-san can defend himself, so I'm not that worried about him.
Shikamaru and Temari's battle is on now. Temari tries to attack Shikamaru while he's laying on the ground. Finally, Shikamaru gets up, and actually shows that he wants to battle her. Their battle begins. Temari makes huge gusts of winds with her fan go towards Shikamaru. Just before the clouds of dust around Shikamaru disappears, you could see a shadow from Shikamaru's Shadow Possesion Jutsu go towards Temari, but stops at a certain distance. He closes his eyes and makes a form or sign out of his hand. Though, it looks as if he's thinking. He's in that position for about fifteen seconds, then finally gets up. Temari attacks with the same technique, then Shikamaru hides behind one of the trees. You could easily tell that Temari is mad. Temari tries to attack again, but a kunai is thrown at her, causing her move a few steps back. Shikamaru does the Shadow Possesion Jutsu; and like sun goes further down, his shadow goes further ahead towards Temari. It was about to get closer to Temari; the shadow of Shikamaru's shirt as parachute, causing the shadow limit to go further. But Temari quickly moves further back. She places her fan down where Shikamaru's shadow can't reach, and stays behind there for a few seconds. Shikamaru's shadow goes towards the hole where Naruto attacks Neji from underground, and appears where the hole started from; sneaking behind Temari. Now I get what Shikamaru was planning this whole time. "Finally, the Shadow Possesion Jutsu is a success." Shikamaru says while letting Temari look behind her by looking behind himself. Shikamaru walks up to the middle; and since Temari is under his Shadow Possession Jutsu, she walks up towards the middle of the arena too.
Shikamaru raises his hand, causing Temari to raise her hands. "That's it. I'm done, I give up." Says Shikamaru in a bored voice. "Wh... What?" Temari stutters. Shikamaru explains, "I used up too much chakra. I'm good for another ten seconds. What a drag, I even planned out the next 200 moves." Genma announces with a lazy smile, "The winner is Temari!"
Naruto is now angry at Shikamaru for giving up and says, "Why'd he give up? Is he stupid or something? That really makes me made! I'm gonna go five him a lecture he won't ever forget!" "Lecturing is difficult. One must not anger the audience." Shino says. I try to stop Naruto, but I'm too late.
Like Naruto said, he tries to argue with Shikamaru with why he withdrew. "At this point, what does it matter? Let's go watch the next battle, okay" Shikamaru says that makes Naruto remember about my nii-san's battle. Thought nii-san still isn't here.
"H-hey, it's almost time. Is he really going to come?" Kankuro asks about nii-san. Gaara answers creepily, "He'll come. I'm sure of it."
Suddenly a leaf appears out of nowhere in the sky. More comes around, and then nii-san and Kakashi-Sensei appear back-to-back with a lot of leaves around them.

{AUTHOR'S NOTE: I won't be able to add another chapter until sometime between middle of next month or end of next month due to a lot of school work being due by middle of next week, a few exams, (and cheering for my favourite NHL team. Yes, I am your typical Canadian who has a passion for hockey). So I won't be able to do much of the story for the next week and a half or so. I'm so sorry, but I really want to graduate this year. But don't worry, I've already planned out what I'm going to be doing for the next few chapters of Isamu's life.}
