We almost make it back to Mr. Beavers home when we start to hear wolves howling.
"Run!" I shout and we all start running. We run the rest of the way to his home and rush inside the door.
"Hurry they're after us!" Mr. Beaver shouts closing the door.
"Right then." Mrs. Beaver says and starts to waddle around packing things.
"What is she doing?" Peter asks.
"You'll be thinking me later, it's a long journey and Beaver gets cranky when he's hungry." She tells him. She continues to grab things and pack them.
"I'M CRANKY NOW!" Mr. Beaver shouts.
"Do you think we'll need jam?" Susan asks.
"Only if my sister has toast." I joke and she glares at me, "Right, sorry not the time."
The wolves start to break in and we make our way into the tunnel. I grab a torch and follow behind them. Lucy trips and Susan helps her stand up. The wolves start barking and I look around.
"Hurry! They're in the tunnel!" I exclaim and we take off into a sprint. I hold the torch away from my face as I run. We reach the end of the tunnel.
"You should have packed a map!" Mrs. Beaver says.
"There wasn't any room next to the jam!" Mr. Beaver tells his wife. He jumps up out of the tunnel, followed by his wife and Lucy. I climb out after Susan and help Peter out. I help him lift a barrel and put it at the exit. Lucy cries out and I turn to see her lying near a bunch of stoned animals. Mr. and Mrs. Beaver walk over to a statue of a badger.
"I'm so sorry dear." She puts a paw on his shoulder.
"He was my best mate." He says sadly.
"What happened here?" Peter asks.
"That's what happens to those that comes across the witch." A voice says. My head snaps up to see a fox standing on a rock. Peter pushes us behind him protectively.
"You come any closer you traitor and I'll chew you to split ends!" Mr. Beaver threatens.
"Relax." The fox says jumping off the rock, "I'm one of the good guys."
"Yeah, well you look and awful lot like one of the bad ones."
"An unfortunate family resemblance, but we can argue breeding later, right now we've got to move." The fox tells us. The wolves start barking and howling behind us. I look at the fox,
"What do you have in mind?" The fox smirks and we follow him to a tree.
"Hurry, they'll be here soon." We quickly climb it and hide ourselves as best as we could. The wolves break through the barrier and make their way to the fox, circling him.
"Greeting gents!" The fox greets, "Lost something have we?"
"Don't patronize me!" Maulgrim growls, " I know where your loyalties lie. Where are the humans and her sister?"
The fox chuckles, "Humans? In Narnia? That's a bit of valuable information don't you think?"
Maulgrim jumps forward and bites the fox. Lucy, Susan and I gasp. Peter covers Susans mouth, she covers mine, and I cover Lucy's.
"Your reward is your life." Maulgrim lets him go, " It's not much, but still... Where are the fugatives?"
The fox whines and says out of breath, "North.. They went North."
"Smell them out." Maulgrim command the other wolves. One of them picks up the fox with their teeth and throws him. I quickly make my way down the branches. I reach the last one and jump, landing in a squatting position. I walk over and kneel down beside the fox. Peter makes a fire and we sit by it. Mrs. Beaver starts to clean the fox.
