The Intrepid's bridge was a hive of activity. The vast array of people worked in harmony with their computers and the AI that ruled them. Numbers, charts, orders and confirmations turned the large hub into a sea of noise. Warm air was steadily replaced as the air conditioner hummed happily overhead. The lights of the room illuminated everything in a warm glow, hidden underfoot and sprawling across the room like a demented spiders web.
The overall theme of the bridge was to be minimalist, no space wasted with unnecessary equipment. While this was true, one could mistake the consoles for that of a YouTuber back on Terra. Monitors, lights, soundboards, microphone stands and headsets hanging drunkenly from paired mic's left these posts in a state of near clutter. Every part of equipment was tailor made for the designated post.
Stations were designed for two technicians per desk, selected in the initiation process for their differentiating thought and reasoning patterns. While none were really needed, Pan could run the ship sans human input. Separate monitors for each with a combined monitor in the centre for general information related to their rank. The electric orchestra the duo conducted resembled only a small part of the chain of command, but each was as important as the next, all the way up to the very top. The set up was to ensure an effective chain of command while pushing the limits of human capabilities to a comfortable thrum. Aurora had been forced to implement breaks such was the zeal of her Command Crew - a sense of responsibility, or guilt, kept most of the crew rooted to their stations.
Michael sat near the core of this. Kat, naturally, was at his side, while Aurora and the upper levels of his Admiralty and General Staff sat at the heads of their various positions. Some were absent, attending to other tasks about Michael's flagship. Each of these women held more power at their fingertips than entire continents did back on Earth.
Micheal sat at the pinnacle of the Fate Standard Design. Each compartment of his Legions, from Engineering to Flight Crews operated their own slight variation of the FSD, but they followed the same recipe. Micheal sat within his 'Throne,' as it'd been teasingly dubbed, flitting between the monitor-tablet combination as data scrolled in a near blur.
