Homecoming was getting closer and you still didn't have a boyfriend. Now normally that isn't a big deal, you don't need a bf to enjoy spirit week, but you were a cheerleader and thus expected to have a man (specifically a football player). Jirou, Momo, Tsuyu, Mina, and Uraraka all had boyfriends so that left you as the sole loner. They encouraged you to find someone, and while you tried, there really wasn't anyone you'd like to be seen with.
Well, there was one, but he just had a nasty breakup with his ex, not that he'd say yes anyway. But, you reasoned, football players were also pressured to have a girlfriend, so maybe...
"We could help each other out," you explained. Bakugou, his arms folded and a bored almost angry look on his face, didn't react. You waited a moment, but when he didn't respond, you sighed.. "Look, it's just for the week. After that we can pretend it never happened."
"I'd rather go solo," he grumbled, rolling his eyes at your pathetic excuse of 'asking him out'. You ignored the pain to your heart at his statement.
"Don't you want to get back at your ex?" That earned a raised eyebrow. "Like I said, just that one week, no strings attached." He thought for a while.
"Fine."
"Yes!"
"-But!" He held up a hand. "We're only together in title. We're not gonna hug or hold hands, and absolutely no kissing." He punctuated his words with a glare like he knew you were just dying to snog him. You snorted.
"No problem there."
"Good, now get lost."
"What are you doing?" Bakugou jogged over to the bleachers where you'd taken a seat to watch the players practice.
Ignoring his accusatory tone, you replied brightly, "Watching you practice. I've got to at least pretend we're dating or no one will believe us, and with physical contact out of the question I figured this was the next best thing."
"Well don't," he snapped.
"Honestly, I'm just doing my homework." You held up your notebook. "It just doubles as something a good girlfriend would do." He rolled his eyes.
"Yeah well you're a big distraction so-"
"You're the only one who's noticed me." He gestured to all the players, some of which were watching the conversation. "They're only watching cuz you're over here."
"Haven't you noticed they're trying to get your attention?" You studied them and noticed they were, in fact, showing off. Bakugou tutted. "Watching me play." He added air quotes mockingly. "Why don't you just date one of them for the week?"
"Partially because you already agreed to take the position, and partially because most of them are really sleazy." He didn't argue with that. "It's only Monday, are you that sick of me already?" It was a joke but his deadpan reply of "yes" dampened your mood. "Wow. Go play football you jerk." You went back to your homework.
"Seriously? Again?" You looked up from your homework to find an angry Bakugou with his hands on his hips at the bottom of the bleachers.
"It's not my fault the teachers' still think they need to assign homework."
"Why are you here?"
"Same as yesterday."
"None of us want you here."
"Evidently they do." You pointed to the players ignoring the couch and instead focusing solely on you. You sent a wave. You were fairly certain Baku growled as he stepped onto the bleachers just to block their view of you. "But you're the only one who's actually come over to talk. Are you sure I'm not distracting you?" He laughed but there wasn't any humor in it.
