Bakugou swore under his breath as he ran towards the school, cursing his mother for making him late. It was a passive comment about his uniform being dirty that set him off, escalating into a fight that caused him to miss the train. He considered using his quirk to get him inside faster, all the running giving his palms plenty of ammunition, but decided against it since he was nearly inside.
Aizawa would have his head, or at least he'd try, Bakugou wouldn't let him. Still muttering angrily under his breath, he rounded the corner to find two students practically on top of each other. At first he thought they were making out, which made him make a noise of disgust, but as they quickly turned to him, he saw his first assumption was wrong. The girl had a bruise over her right eye which she was quick to cover with her hand, while the boy stepped in front of her. Something was seriously off.
"We're not doing anything," the boy said, not coming close to convincing Bakugou. He scoffed.
"Where'd you get that nasty bruise?" Bakugou asked the girl peeking out from behind the boy. He thought he recognized her but he couldn't put a (nick)name to her face. The boy covered her with his body again, glaring over his shoulder.
"She tripped-"
"I didn't ask you, mullet," Bakugou spat. The boy put a hand to his hair, offended. Bakugou saw the girl peek out again, slowly shaking her head. As they were talking, he had been walking closer, and now that he was close enough he could see the fear in her eyes. She was holding her wrist as well, a small grimace twisting her lips.
Bakugou used an explosion from his hand to push him towards the boy, knocking him onto his backside. Bakugou had a fist up to punch the boy as his other hand held the boy's collar. "What did you do to her?!"
"Don't hurt him!" the girl squeaked, sounding more feeble than he anticipated. The boy grinned, something that made Bakugou's blood boil.
"Thank you my girlfriend," he said, then glared at Bakugou. "Now get off me, my uniform's getting ruined." Bakugou shoved him back, making him hit his head, and as he groaned Bakugou stood and looked at the girl.
"I should get to class, Monnie." Her voice sounded fragile, like fine china. She didn't seem any tougher than her words.
"Of course." The boy got up, straightening his outfit. "I don't want my girlfriend to fall behind in class." Bakugou grit his teeth, about to punch him right across his ugly face before the girl gently placed her hands on his arm, tugging lightly. It shocked him enough to stop the incoming fist.
"Come on Bakugou, we should get to class." As he followed her lead down the hall, he finally figured out why she looked familiar: she was in his class.
"Did he hit you?" he asked, his voice softer now but the same hard edge still present.
"Bakugou-"
"It's a yes or no question." He stopped, forcing her to stop as well. She blinked back tears and avoided his gaze.
"No."
He scoffed. "That was a pathetic lie."
"You can't tell anyone!" she pleaded, grabbing his arm tightly. He didn't pull his arm away. "He didn't mean to, he was just angry with because I screwed up. I deserved it!"
"The only person who deserves to get a black eye is him." He seriously considered turning right around and marching after that stupid Monnie to finish the beating he started. Her fingernails dug into his arm and he grabbed her wrist to pull her away when she yelped and he instantly let go. "What did he do?"
"I just landed on it wrong earlier." He had no doubt that was also caused by Monnie.
"You should break up with him," Bakugou grumbled as he started walking again. They were already late, when they made it into the classroom wouldn't matter anymore.
