SnowMoon's Heart -

Chapter 2-

HeatherStar stood on the high rock, today Snowkit would become a paw and start her training to be a warrior. As of now she was making ShallowKit to ShallowPaw, and it was almost SnowKit's turn.
    " SnowKit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as SnowPaw. Your mentor will be DeerLeap." HeatherStar looked to DeerLeap,
"DeerLeap, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have received excellent training from Myself, and you have shown yourself to be a strong and quick warrior. You will be the mentor of SnowPaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Her."
    Despite the sadness SnowPaw felt over the most recent death of her father, SnowPelt, She was ecstatic to finally become an apprentice. They young tabby went to touch noses with the brown tabby. DeerLeap bent her muzzle into SnowPaw's ear.
    " You'll be a great apprentice, I just hope that I will be a great mentor to you." Whispered the she cat. " I'm completely confident in you DeerLeap, thank you." Retorted SnowPaw.
    " Meeting dismissed!"  yowled HeatherStar.
    DeerLeap walked over to the camp entrance with SnowPaw. " We will be going on a tour of our territory today, tomorrow I will be taking you hunting and teaching you how to do so." She told the apprentice. She led her to the edge of their border next to the lake, this was the two's last stop. As they came to a stop, SnowPaw let out a surprised gasp.
    " I take it you like the lake? I was the same way when I first saw it. You see that island over there? That's where the clans meet every moon for gatherings. We have to cross into ThunderClan territory to get there though. We'll have a chance to go to a gathering in a couple days actually, I could try and get HeatherStar to let us go together. Anyway let's head back to camp, i'm sure you're exhausted." the she cat turned and turned back to the camp. " Come on, i'll race ya!" With that the brown she cat took off. SnowPaw in quick pursuit.
    DeerLeap make quick time to get back to camp, with her longer legs and knowledge of the territory, she won the little race. Her fur was still slick and shiny with bits of dried dirt on her paws, but SnowPaws pretty white fur was now a dusty brown color. The older she cat let out a merow of laughter.
    " Haha good race SnowPaw you kept up with me, HeatherStar did a race with me my first day of training. She left me in the dust, haha, you should have seen me. I twisted my paw, It had rained the night before so puddles were everywhere. Oh StarClan I tripped into one I walked back into camp soaked and limping. I was a mess as an apprentice." She started to laugh harder.
    " Did you really? Haha, I bet ShallowPaw would've done the same that tom is such a mess sometimes. You saw him as a kit he was always getting into things and messing up his fur." Meowed SnowPaw.
    " Ok SnowPaw you should go get something to eat then head to bed, don't be mad when i wake you up early tomorrow."
    SnowPaw walks over to the fresh kill pile and picks up a shrew. She walks over to a sunny spot near the nursery and watches as CaveFur plays with her kit, ShellKit. She starts to dig into the shrew, it was still kind of warm. She licks her lips as she finishes eating. Her old friends ShallowPaw and RabbitPaw sharing tongues with one another. Laughing and messing with one another. She looks around and sees her mother IceCloud coming her way.
" Hello my darling daughter! How was your first day as an apprentice?" Asked IceCloud.      " Hello momma, I had a wonderful first day! DeerLeap had shown me the whole territory! I saw the lake, oh it's so huge. She raced me back, she won, but I kept up with her." The young apprentice rambled on about her day. " But mom I wish Dad was still here, he'd of been so happy to see me, I wonder what he's doing in StarClan? Do you think he's watching? " The queens look softened.
" Oh Honey, I know I miss SnowPelt too. He was such a good mate, he was a good father to you. I'm sure he's watching us right now, He's probably so proud of you. Now go on and go to bed, I love you dear and remember ill always be here for you."
