This story features a character who is a bigot. I don't like bigots and I feel it's important to show them for the vile, ignorant, and insecure creatures which they are. I don't like cleaning up their hate speech just to make them more palatable. Hate should, in my own opinion, be unpalatable. It should be sickening.
However, out of respect for the rules of the Wattpad platform, I have cleaned up the three uses of a particular homophobic slur this bigot character uses in order to post the story here. I have not substituted the word with a more watered-down synonym, just replaced most of its letters with *'s.
I am a PROUD member of the LGBTQ+ community and I have been subjected to homophobic bigotry and discrimination in my lifetime. I have been the victim of physical violence. I feel very strongly about my use of this word in this story to illustrate how repugnant bigotry is.
