I wake up feeling just as empty as usual, maybe even more. I pull myself out of my broken and creaky bed and into the cleanest room, the bathroom.

I look at my reflection. I look like I just walked through hell and died. Cuts cover my face that weren't there before. I probably did that before bed.

"Well... I guess I gotta work." I mutter to myself. I wash my mouth and change into a simple outfit that has long sleeves and is loose.

I walk down to work... even though it's more of an apprenticeship than anything. I work as a seamstress or tailor, whichever you want to call it.

I get inside and mama Ginger, the one whom I'm apprenticing under, whisks me off to learn how to fit a suit.

I'm quietly following all the instructions and whispering apologies to the male I'm fitting this suit to.

"You did a wonderful job, I'll let you work on your personal project until another appointment shows up." Mama ginger smiles at me.

I give her an empty smile and go into my back room, where I'm working on a black dress that fits my exact measurements. It's made especially for me to be buried in when I die, or if I ever get married which is highly unlikely.

I sew a trim on the underskirt, it's a beautiful patterned lace and it will be used a lot on this dress.

I take a look at the only piece of handiwork that I have ever liked for more than twenty minutes. It doesn't look like much as I only get about an hour to work on it a day.

But the underskirt is almost done. It's a satiny fabric that would add a good two inches to each side of myself at the widest point, and the bodice, overskirt, and corset are the next on the list of projects to do.

"(Y/n)! Get in here! This prom dress isn't going to hem itself." Mama Ginger yells from the main room. I sigh and make my way there to keep myself in the program, though I don't know why I am here anymore.
