I think he did this... that guy did something to that poor family over there.... that guy... I can't stop thinking about him!

The doorbell fills the house and I open the door to see that officer from earlier, standing there with a solemn look on his face.

"Can I help you?" I ask, not opening my door more... I'm not really proud of having the falling apart house in the neighborhood.

"I'm just here to ask some questions about your whereabouts last night." He says trying to sound assertive.

"I went over to the lot over there last night around 8... came home an hour later." I answer quickly.

"You didn't see anything or anyone strange recently?" He asks writing things down in a little flip book.

"No." I find myself saying before I think. Why am I protecting that guy?!? He probably did something I can feel it.

"Ok... not anything out the window? You must have a great view of the street from up there." He points to my bedroom window.

"Yeah no I didn't. Beside a fire in the lot, which some kids probably forgot to put it out." I laugh dryly, again protecting that guy.

"There's a fire lit there right now... nobody can put it out... and we've sprayed it with water and covered it with dirt." He looks pretty scared.

"Oh... well what happened to the Myers?" I ask.

"Oh... right... they were murdered last night. A lot of mr. Myers clothes were stolen along with all of the money." The police covers his mouth after spilling more details than he should.

"Wow... well I hope you find who did it. The Myers were good people."
