Galant's POV
Something felt horribly wrong—or someone is playing a game on us. I wanted to believe the latter so badly but...there was only one thought to choose, and sadly it was that Inu the Infernape was forever dead. The thought boggled my mind, how did this all happen in such a short amount of time? How did another death occur directly after a trial? But that seems to be out of the question because...
Everyone seems to be asking who caused it. My theories seem to infer that this was a suicide, but not everything in this cursed place is easy to deal with. Inu was a very big part of the group—and as short-tempered as she was, the Infernape did help a lot during all our struggling times. I can tell Sherwood is the most heartbroken out of all of us—I remember one time he told me conversed with the fire type one time; in a real, engaging conversation. Ever since then, he's taken a liking to her. To see him now completely shattered to pieces hurts me, but motivates me. It motivates me to start investigating.
With the only sound being heard was quiet sobbing and Rayne beginning to speak to the crying Pokemon comfort, I stepped into the room for hopefully the last time, only to find Inu's corpse, completely devoid of any color or flame.
"At first it may seem like a suicide, but I promise you it's a murder. No suicide could end up in that position—and due to the fact that the murder weapon is nowhere to be found...someone possibly murdered Inu." Leon was the one to speak behind me in confirmation, and I turned to look at the Lucario with a confused stare.
"Are you completely sure, though? Let's find out if this case even has a murder weapon," and with those words, the jackal nodded and began to inch closer to the body. He closened to a point where even I wouldn't go to before placing his paw on the red-orange hair of the Infernape.
"Her hair is almost colorless...also I'm pretty sure there is a murder weapon, just something entirely different from what you would think," Leon replied to my question as he slowly shuffled his paw under the chin of the Infernape—softly lifting it one inch high in the air. "What I'm saying is, the murder 'weapon' seems to be claws of some sort, and a lot of us have claws here." His words were painfully true, and seeing as how he and I are the only people I've found out so far that do not have claws, it worries me. How are we going to find the killer if there are so many suspects? I'm not sure how we're going to narrow this down to one Pokemon.
"There is only one way then," I finally spoke out after my confusion, "we're going to have to measure the size of each and every claw somehow," I spoke out before gazing at my bladed elbows; at least no one could accuse me of anything, I don't even have claws. I feel as if It's two against the entire population inside of this mansion.
"You're correct, and I'm not sure about you...but we have to inspect the wound deeper, Galant..." He softly spoke before a Manectric began to step up in front of me and Leon.
"I would like to help...please," this isn't the first time I've seen Rayne on the verge of tears, but it seemed like her emotions changed drastically ever since the beginning, seeing someone so stern and serious just break down in front of you, felt very odd.
"I'm...I'm fine with that," the affirmation in my voice was quite shaken, but either way I still accepted.
"T-Thank you, I talked to Inu before this...but after we all dismissed each other to bed...she seemed like she was ready to sleep—she seemed extremely tired. Even if it could be obvious that it'd had been a long day for her—I asked a question..." Rayne paused and turned to gaze at me. "I asked her 'What was wrong?'" The Manectric continued on with her explanation and before I knew it, I was listening to it with interest. However, she turned quiet before gazing attentively at the shoulder of the Infernape.
"If you look close enough—you'll obviously see what's wrong," the Manectric pointed directly to a spot on the shoulder, and I noticed something. It was almost like a puncture mark so thin and circulated, it was impossible to be made by a Pokemon.
"Could that possibly be...a needle?" His words confused me, sadly, I had no clue what a 'needle' was—I ended up tilting my head in confusion.
"Oh, Galant, a needle is an object used to inject fluids into your bloodstream or something else," someone answered from behind me, it seemed to sound like Kanom. I sort of understood what it was, at least I had an idea of how it would look like. The question now is how would this play in the murder?
"That looks important, what do you think happened?" I questioned before placing my palm against my chin, glancing at the puncture wound with intent.
"She was drugged somehow. Someone in this house had drugged her with a liquid, and we need to find out who it was, and where they got it from." Rayne's words had finally turned to their famously stern and serious tone, and I'm glad it did. That would mean that the electric type was more motivated now.
"Remember the garage that was used for the first murder? Maybe we could look in there," I offered before motioning to the room door. Everyone seemed to agree, but a few people chose to split up and find extra evidence scattered in the building.
Leon's POV
This trial I felt the most determined to do well in, and for some reason, I almost feel like I already know who it is. For some reason, however, I didn't give in to the temptation.
"Let's investigate something bothering me first and foremost. The stairway closet connected to Vince's room originally. So...if by common sense, no one was sleeping in that room...correct?" I spoke out until someone from the top row of the stairs called to me.
"Leon! The room is actually messy for some reason!" Someone called, almost like it was Aubra. I've never heard her shout that loud, so I dashed up the main stairs and gazed at Vince's open door. The bed was completely used—and noticing how the door had multiple scratches on it, I'm extremely surprised how I didn't notice this earlier.
"This is quite interesting..." I softly verbalized.
"Leon. I really need to talk to you," Laker spoke from behind me as I quickly jerked to his direction. It's as if I couldn't catch a break.
"Yeah? Is everything okay?" I paced my way over to him as he clutched my arm and dragged me to his room. In defense, I shoved him away and he flew halfway across the room before breaking his fall.
"Fuckin' ay, I was trying to show you something!" He hissed at me before motioning to the cards scattered across a table. I paused for at least three seconds before sighing.
"You could have found a way to tell me other than dragging me into your room, Laker." I softly groaned in annoyance before trudging my way over to his table. The cards were...everyone's names?
"These are the secretive cards Sam handed to everyone to be a motive for Talus' murder. I began talking to everyone about this, and I decided to show you yours—since you refused to see it," he murmured before flipping over the paper...
'Leon's parents abandoned him when he was young...' the card had written. I did the right choice by not reading it earlier—I wasn't affected as much as it would have when I was with everyone else.
"...and look at this real quick," Laker compared two specific cards together. Inu's and Alice's. Reading them both, my heart froze.
'Inu burned down a whole forest, causing many Pokemon to have to leave their homes. She is the cause of two deaths'
'Alice had a friend die in a fire, causing her major depression to the point where she self-harms,'
I couldn't believe it.
