The Loser's Club jumped away from the table as the bowl in the center filled with fortune cookies began to shake violently. The cookies began to show cracks in them, and paper began to poke out.

Maya slowly leaned forward and picked one up. Shakily, she pulled out the slip of paper, her blood running cold when she saw the letters printed onto it.

"Stanley." She whispered, barely loud enough for the surrounding group to hear.

"Stan?" Beverly said, confused. She took the paper from Maya's hand, their fingers brushing. Maya's heart lept for a split-second at this exchange.

The Loser's glanced at the pair, and reached forward and picked up a cookie of their own.

"It." Bill read aloud, glancing around the table.

"Cut." Richie read next, shaking his head, his eyes falling to Maya.

"Couldn't." Ben read last.

"What does that even mean?" Eddie shook his head.

"Where's Stan? Is he coming? Mike, did you call him?"

"Yeah, yes, I did."

"Stanley.." Maya mumbled. "This doesn't make any sense!"

When she looked to Beverly, she seemed to be thinking very hard in her head. Her eyebrows furrowed and her bottom lip rested between her teeth.

"Hand me those." She said shortly.

"What?"

"I said, hand me those!"

Bill, Ben, and Richie handed her the slips of paper they held in their hands.

Beverly began trying to piece together the puzzle in silence. Finally when she got it, she read the sentence aloud.

"Stan couldn't cut it."

Maya felt the blood drain from her face. She yet out loud yelp as the remaining cookies once again began to shake violently.

Richie began cursing loudly as he squeezed both of his eyes shut.

"Oh, come on!" Maya hissed, jumping back. The cookies began sprouting legs, causing Maya and the rest of the losers to let out a loud scream.

Her heartbeat increased, now beating so fast she felt as if it would stop. Her breathing quickened and she felt like she was thirteen all over again.

Maya jumped back once again as one jumped towards her. She yelped as it landed on her skirt, frantically smacking it off.

The cookie monsters began jumping onto the others, until Mike picked up a chair.

"Mike-" Maya started, being cut off when he started slamming it on the table repeatedly.

"What the fuck, what the fuck, what the fu-" Richie repeated loudly, as Mike continued to break the chair over the table.
