Chapter 8: Flash back [Part 1]

Hello everyone, I think it is time for some flash back before I reveal Dad's reason for disapearance. Please do read all the flashback from this unknown girl's POV. You will find out about her identity later. Hope you enjoy reading this chapter and don't forget to vote and comment. 

Chapter 8: Flash back Part 1

It was raining heavily that night. The cold wind seemed to cool down my emotion. I was angry. Why? Because of her.

I was writing my diary. I have been writing diary since I was tenth. Why? Because of him. It was a birthday present from him and I started writing since then.

That day, we had a new student in the class. A new guy, a good-looking new guy. As usual, Erin became very excited seeing him in our class.

Erin was my best friend, of course. As much as I hated her, she was my only friend. She had everything that a teenage girl would ask for; money, beauty, popularity and so on.

Me, on the other hand, just a simple looking girl staying with an adopted parent. Yes, I was adopted when I was a baby. Who knows what happened to my real parents.

Being the only child, my adopted family spoiled me a lot and I had the most wonderful and memorable childhood. However, few years ago, my adopted mother gave birth to a baby girl. That was the turning point in my life.

My adopted grandmother, who hated me, told about my adoption after that. I was shocked at first, but accepted the facts later.

Now back to Erin, she was a happy-go-lucky girl and never bothered about her surroundings. She had a lot of boyfriends, but none during her final year high school.

However, everything changed when she saw the new guy, Jack for the first time. She started to drool over him all the time. I felt disgusted. But what could I do?

The only guy that I liked and loved in my life was Nathan. We knew each other because we were neighbors. He gave me diary as my birthday present and I treasured it till now.

He confessed his feelings to me one day before we started our high school. Don’t get the wrong idea. He confessed his love for Erin and cried for my help.

He shattered my hearts into thousand of pieces and wanted my help? Why would I? I declined. I ended up crying for few days and promised to myself that I would never let his love succeed.

Since then, he chose to ignore me in high school. I understood later that he befriended me to be close to Erin. His bad luck, Erin only treated him as one of her guy friend. All because of me. Hahaha…congratulations to evil me.

Now, again back to Erin. She managed to get closer to the new guy. After being together for few weeks, they seemed to fight a lot.

She never told me the reason, not even once and I didn’t bother to ask. Again, why would I?

My adopted parents left to visit the evil grandmother. I heard she was sick. I didn’t follow them and they never forced me.

I had the house for my own self. That’s when my brain started to plan something. Something evil, which will force Nathan to like me.

I threw a party in the weekend. I invited everyone from my year, including Erin, Jack and Nathan. Of course, Erin helped me to invite everyone. I prepared everything; beer, snacks, music, etc.

However, it wasn't until the next morning that I realized what had I done.

And it wasn’t until the next five months that I realized what a big mistake that I had committed in my life.

I destroyed my best friend’s life, and I wasn’t happy at all. Because I knew that I deserved to rot in hell. And Erin will never forgive me if she found out the truth.

So, the only way out is to hide the truth. The truth that I promised to carry to my grave. But fate has something else waiting for me…
