Piper's back pressed firmly against the wall as she watched Jeremy. She should have known better than to leave the window open. She might have well invited him in. Jeremy moved towards her like a predator stalks its prey until he was inches from her. His breath was hot against her face as she struggled to keep herself calm. She wasn't going back, not if she could help it. His eyes were bright, like the fear that was coursing through her energized him. It angered her the way the faster her heart raced the bigger the smile was on his face.
She heard running feet in the hallway and Jeremy's face fell a little as he glanced towards the door his eyes narrowed. Piper tried to use the distraction to move away from him to only be stopped as he slammed his hand against the wall beside her head.
"Piper! Piper are you okay?" Cedar's voice boomed through the door sending a wave of hope through her. She wasn't alone, Jeremy wouldn't be able to take her. Not with the lycans around.
"I'm not going anywhere with you, Jeremy," her fists tightened at her sides as Jeremy's eyes flashed back to her. The anger that filled them now made her struggle to keep from looking away, from shrinking away from him. She refused, she would not show him just how terrified she was at that moment. A wave of nausea flooded through her as Jeremy's eyes looked over her face his nostrils flaring though the smile started to creep back on his face.
"Oh, looks like someone is getting feisty. Good, you are going to need that," his hand moved towards her face brushing a strand of hair behind her ear another wave of nausea crashing through Piper. She could hear banging at the door as Cedar attempted to get into the room. "You know, I grew up being told that I was going to marry the chosen one. I never imagined she'd be as beautiful as you. Then when Terrance showed up with you to our clan I thought I had won the lottery. Always knew your place, too. Though it seems you might need to be reminded just where that place is."
"Screw you," Piper squared her shoulders though the shaking in her legs was starting to get harder to control. Her survival instincts told her to do as she was told or the consequences would be worse, but reason reminded her she wasn't alone anymore. As if to second that thought the banging at the door started to get louder, though Jeremy didn't seem phased by it one bit.
"Oh, that'll just be the beginning," laughter filled the room as Jeremy leaned his head a little closer to her. "Trust me, I'm going to wear you out."
"Get. Off. Me!" Piper hissed as she pushed against him, her arm screaming out in pain. The door groaned as a body slammed into it pulling Jeremy's attention for a moment before he looked back at her, her efforts to push him away proving useless.
"I like when you are feisty," he grinned as he breathed in. "Your submissiveness was starting to get dull."
The door finally gave way to Cedar's weight and Jeremy's face dropped. The look on Cedar's face sent chills down Piper's spin, he looked furious!
"I'll be back for you, doll," Jeremy grinned as he shifted back to a crow and flew off before anyone could stop him. Piper felt her legs give out from under her as she slid to the ground. Cedar rushed over his face softening as he looked at her as if checking for any wounds. She heard the window slam shut as Cedar's eyes met hers.
"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Cedar asked as he touched her face gently. Piper flinched and pulled away, an image of his face when he first broke into the room flashing through her head. She knew it had been directed at Jeremy, but old habits die hard.
"I'm fine," she pushed out as she tried to get her 'feisty' attitude back, but failing miserably. She needed to learn how to beat Jeremy, learn how to fight back. She didn't want this to happen again, she refused to be the victim anymore. An idea popped into her head as she glanced at Cedar. "I want to learn to fight."
