"So how are you enjoying Italy so far?" Savannah asked me as we wander the Italian Streets. "Its almost as great as Iceland was" I answered while we sat down at a table outside and Italian restaurant. "See this around the world thing isn't so bad. Now stop dragging along and have fun." She said enthusiastically clapping her hands. "Its only been a month and a half. You can't expect me to just hop on the fun train and carelessly travel the world." I said almost in a whisper.
"But anyway, I think Im gonna go on a stroll on my own. Meet me back here in an hour?" I asked standing up and she nodded. I walked away going through a small crowd of people. I wondered what it would it be like if I was here with Niall. Would it be more fun? Would it be more romantic? I guess I'll never know. The one place I want to avoid going to is Paris, the city of love. I don't think I'll be able to handle seeing couples in love everywhere.
I came across a small bridge and walked over it and stopped somewhat in the middle then leaned over the brick ledge. I gazed over the water and thought all about what I left behind. Not just Niall but all of my belongings from my apartment. I had to leave them, for easy travel, so I left them in a storage unit in London. Although Im sure I won't be coming back for another eighty years, or at least 'til Niall's gone.
"What's a gorgeous girl like you doing all alone looking so upset?" I heard an Italian accent ask me. I looked and saw an Italian man around my age walking up to me. "Just thinking" I said blankly. "About what?" He stood next to me. "Just some guy" I said knowing he was way more than 'just some guy'. "Well he must really be something to make you think about him while your in beautiful Italy. Tell me about him."
"Well for starters, he's really nice and... sweet. He was very musical, he just loves his guitar. He was really funny and he had a laugh that could make your day. He had a very big heart. When he talks I never really focused on what he was saying, I focused more on the sound of his voice. What I loved most was that he made me fall in love, with everything he had, and he didn't even have to try." I looked to see if he was still listening and he was. "Well if you love him so much what's the problem?" He asked. "He's no longer in my life. But we are still very much in love"
He nods in understanding "But Im great other than that." I said reassuringly. He looks down on his watch and in a panic he starts running off. "Sorry, but I was supposed to find my mother at our restaurant. I have to go. Nice to meet you." He said as he ran off leaving me by myself. "Well that was a lot of information to give a total stranger."
"Yeah whatever Brent. Do you think I made the right decision?" I asked him seriously. "I think you did what you had to do. If it was the wrong decision you'll find out later in time. If it's the right decision you'll meet some decent looking vampire dude and live happily ever after." He said cheery." You just gotta keep holding on" he said more serious. I nodded and walked away from Brent not wanting to talk anymore. I assume he got the hint because he didn't follow.
I went back to the restaurant where I told Savannah to meet me at and saw her sitting at a table with a bunch of shopping bags next her. "Did some shopping I see" I told her as I sat down. "Of course. Shopping is my drug." She said jokingly. I laughed and we quickly got silent. "How are you hold up?" She asked me. "I'm gonna take a lot longer to get over the love of my life. I would be a lot better if I wasn't being asked how I'm doing every five minutes." I said starting to get annoyed. "Im sorry. I just really miss... everything" I apologized. "Its fine, I get it. Look I'll understand if you decide to leave me on our adventure to go back to London." She told me once again. "I can't. Not now, not ever."
She dropped the subject but it stuck on my mind. I've spent every single day wanting to go back, but I had to fight the urge to go back. I had to listen to Brent and keep holding on.
Short chapter I know, I suck ass for that.
