So maybe traveling through the jungle in my favorite vans wasn't the best idea.. Yes I'm a vans guy. Talk all you want about how Nike's or adidas are better I don't care I'm a vans guy and that what I'm sticking with. My vans were all muddy and I had so much stuff I stepped in you don't even wanna know the half of it.

I decided to take a little break and relax while refilling my canteen at the nearest watering hole. If Mr.Yoshi was here he would probably say something along the lines of, "Your not doing it right turquoise." Or "work faster daddy wants a massage." He messes with me like that sometimes especially when he's drunk. I don't know why but he calls me turquoise instead of Derek for some reason.

Like this one time I was eating pizza and for no apparent reason at all he grabbed a piece and slapped my face with it. He kept saying that it was making me fat but then after slapping my face you wanna know what he did? He took a freaking bite out of it.

As I was resting by the pond I heard movements bringing me out of my thoughts. I quickly snapped my head up to see a girl swiftly moving through the jungle. For some reason I felt an odd connection to this girl like I had seen her somewhere before. She kinda reminded me of that movie from WAY back in the day... what was it called... the one with the boy in the jungle raised by monkeys... OH! that's right Tarzan.

She was skinny but not too skinny she had long pink hair that reached the small of her back. Her piercing hazel eyes met mine and she just cocked her head sideways and stared at me. After a few minutes of staring she came towards the pond and started splashing me with water.

"Hey! That's not nice little girl!! I don't even know you." But there that pull was again I had a feeling I had seen this little girl somewhere before. I just couldn't place my finger on it.

"I'm Susie. Who are you and what are you doing in my home?" Good vocabulary for someone who looked like they were raised by wolves. Wait.. did she say home?

"I'm Derek. I'm here looking for a girl. One with special abilities." She flinched at the mention of abilities and ran off. "Hey it's ok!" I chased after her and seen her about to get attacked by a rather large snake.

I used my ability to imagine a cage right above the snakes head. It dropped on the snake containing it and saving the little girl. She turned her head to me and smiled running up to me and hugging me in a death grip.

"Are you ok?" I asked genuinely concerned. After I managed to get out of her death grip I knelt down to her level to check and make sure everything was fine. She just smiled and pulled me along while she ran through the jungle.

After another torturous ten minutes of ruining my vans we came up to a small treehouse. The little girl halted causing me to almost trip. She smiled at me released my hand and started to climb. Once she reached the top she motioned me up and I followed her exact movements so I didn't fall.

"This is your home?" I asked confused as to where the little girl had taken me.

"Yes." She nodded.

"How did you get here?" I questioned confused by the situation this little girl was in.

"When I was really young I was taken away from my my family and put in this lab. These people did tests and stuff on me but I eventually got away. After finding my family again my brother and I got into a big fight and these animals came out of nowhere and killed them all." Wow that's a very sad story.

"How old are you?" This poor girl probably thinks I'm interrogating her.

"13. I think" she stated matter-of-factly.

"All this happened to you and your still sane after all these years I'm so sorry." I apologized even though I know it wasn't my fault I still felt bad for the poor girl she's only 13 and she's been through so much.
