Melody's Point Of View
Me and Tyler walk through the hospital doors and towards the front desk.
"I had an appointment scheduled to see Dr.Macklen. My name is Melody Harring." I say, staring at the lady while she searched her computer.
"Okay, go and take a seat." She says.
Me and Tyler walk towards some chairs placed along the walls of the room. We sit down and I say,"I'm really nervous."
"Don't be nervous. Everything will be just fine." Tyler says, putting his arm around me and pulling me towards him.
A few minutes later the double doors open and a nurse walks out.
"Harring!" She shouts.
Me and Tyler stand up and follow her. We walk down a hallway and into a room.
"Dr.Macklen will be right with you." The nurse says, walking out of the room.
A man walks in, staring at his clipboard.
"Melody Harring, you're here for an ultrasound, am I correct?" He asks, still staring at the clipboard.
"Yeah." I say and he looks up.
He stiffens a bit and his face looks confused.
"How old are you two?" He asks.
"14." I mumble and Tyler slowly says,"16."
"You are... Quite young." He says after a moment.
I just nod, staring at the floor.
"Melody, may you lay on the bed and lift your shirt please." He says and I do so.
I lift my shirt high enough that my entire belly is exposed, but low enough that my bra isn't seen.
"How many weeks are you?" Dr.Macklen asks.
"Ten." I say.
"This is going to be cold." He says, squirting the gel on my stomach.
He rubs it around with that thing that is hooked up to the monitor and an image appears on the screen. It's black and grey, so you can't see a lot of detail, but in there I saw something. It was small, just a blob at first. But then I started to make out its features. I saw a head, legs, arms, hands, and feet. It's tiny little body curled up, as if sleeping. I've never under stood how babies slept in there, for nine months.
"Congradulations, you have a baby girl." The doctor says and I smile.
"Are you keeping her?" The doctor asks suddenly.
"We plan on it." I say.
The doctor nods.
"Why?" I ask.
Dr.Macklen scratches his head and opens his mouth, like he is about to say something, but he closes it again,
"Um, it's just that you two are very young, especially you, Melody. I am sorry this isn't any of my business." He finally says.
"Yes, it's not any of your business." Tyler mumbles.
"I will be right back." Dr.Macklen says, walking out of the room.
"Tyler, that was kinda rude." I say.
"Well, he was kinda rude." He says.
I roll my eyes,"Tyler, I'll deal with worse than that when I, a freshman, walk through the doors of Mckinley Highschool and my baby bump is so big, it's hanging out of my shirt." I say.
Tyler stares at the ground and whispers, "Why did I do this to you?"
"Tyler, it's okay. I'm Tougher than I look." I say.
The doctor walks into the room and hands me an envelope.
"Those are your ultra sound pictures." He says and I smile.
We leave the hospital and head to my house.
"How was...?" Cam started when we got into the house but I cut him off saying,"I have to pee."
When I got out of the bathroom Cam said,"So, like I was saying, how was the movie?"
"Oh it was um..." I start.
"It was, it couldve been better." Tyler says, scratching his head.
"What was bad about it?" Cam asks.
"That guy he was..." I start.
"He was mean." Tyler says.
"What guy?" Cam asks.
"The guy, um, Peter." I say.
"Katniss' brother?" Cam asks.
"Yeah." Tyler says.
"Okay, first off, his name is Peeta. Second off he is not Katniss' brother. And thirdly, why did you guys lie to me? Where'd you go?" Cam asks.
"We went to see..."Tyler starts and I elbow him in his side.
"Melody, tell me." Cam says.
"It's just that..." I start, but I'm rudely interrupted by another case of morning sickness, in the middle of the day.
As I throw up Tyler holds my hair back. Cam stares at me, then he looks at the puke and now he looks at Tyler.
"Mel, you've been throwing up a lot lately." Cam says.
"I thinks its a just bug going around." Tyler says, faking a cough.
"But she hasn't had any symptoms of a cold, she just throws up." Cam says.
"Mello?" Tyler asks.
"No." I say.
"Mello, we need to tell him." Tyler says.
"Tell me." Cam says.
"No! No! No! Tyler don't tell him!" I scream.
"She's pregnant." Tyler says.
I can see in Cam's eyes that he is angry. He balls up his fist and I close my eyes,
Preparing for the impact. Nothing happens and I open my eyes. Tyler is holding Cam's fist, keeping it from hitting my face.
"Were you really going to hit her?" Tyler asks.
"It isn't like I haven't done it before." Cam says, and Tyler punches him in his face.
They begin to fight and I run upstairs. I go into my room and grab my Hello Kitty tote bag, stuffing it with random clothes and grabbing my iPod. I run into Jesse's room and grab his spongbob suitcase, filling it with clothes.
"Mello, what's going on?" Jesse asks.
"We are leaving." I say.
Jesse hops off of his bed and follows me down stairs. I run outside with Jesse and our bags, putting them in Tyler's car.
"Jesse get in the car." I say.
"Why? Why are Tyler and Cam fighting? Mello what's going on?" He asks.
"Just get in the damn car!" I shout.
"Okay." He says, climbing into the back seat.
"I'll be right back. Do not move." I say, and he nods.
I run into the house and they are still fighting.
"Tyler! Stop!" I shout.
He doesn't stop. I keep my distance though, I've been hit to many times trying to stop a fight. It won't happen again. I scream at the top of my lungs and they stop, looking at me.
"Tyler let's go, please?" I beg and we begin to leave.
When I'm in the doorway Cam grabs my arm.
"Mel, don't leave." He says, his face bloody and bruised. I snatch my arm away from him, climbing into Tyler's car.
We begin to drive and all I hear is Jesse in the background saying,"Melody, what's happening?"
