Linus P.O.V.

I walk towards the bar counter and ordered a hard drink. It's been a rough day and I just lost an important deal. Damn! That deal could definitely help me expand my business throughout Asia if I manage to close it. This past few days seems that I am a little bit out of focus and I wonder if this ring in my pocket could be the reason for it.

I take a glance at the glass of whiskey that the bartender place in front of me. I let out a deep sigh and grab the glass, emptying it in one gulp.

The lively surroundings and the noise around is not helping me focus on the current situation.

"Another one please." I motioned to the bartender as I drowned my own confusion on the noise and repugnant smell of liquor and smoke.

"Isn't it too early to drink yet?" Napalingon ako sa tinig mula sa likod ko. To my surprise, a friendly but unforseen familiar face greeted me.

"Anytime is a good time for a drink." I shrugged as Tegan take the seat beside me.

"So, may I know the reason why my partners in crime looks like as if he was about to go to prison tomorrow for tax evasion?" Tanong nito.

I let out a soft chuckle at his witty remarks. This guy can be surely a stand up comedian if he is not a successful businessman. I grab the second glass that the waiter put in front of me.

"Honestly, how I wish that was the case." I confessed as I empty my drink.

"Now that sound's serious." Wika ni Tegan saka sumenyas ng isang baso ng alak sa bartender. "I know I am not a good adviser but I'm a good listener." Napailing na lang ako saka inubos ang natitirang inumin sa baso ko.

"I don't know really." Umpisa ko. I take the velvet box from my pocket and open it, revealing one of the most expensive diamonds money can buy. "I figure out that I am not getting younger anymore and well—.

"And you think you should already propose to Evie?" Dugtong nito sa sasabihin ko sana.

Isang mapait na ngiti ang gumuhit sa labi ko. "I respect Evie and she's one of the most amazing woman I've met. Everyone is expecting it anyway so I don't see the need to prolong the wait."

Isang malalim na buntong hininga ang pinawalan ng katabi ko. Kung para saan ay hindi ko na alam. "Linus, do you love Evie?"

Napalingon ako sa tanong nito. Do I love her? "Y-yes. I do care about her, I like her."

Napailing na lang si Tegan sa isinagot ko. Umakbay ito sa balikat ko. His eyes followed the hand of the waiter when he put another glass of hard drink in the glossy table. "Let me rephrase my question then." Wika nito saka dinampot ang baso sa mesa. "Do you love Evie as a woman or do you love her because she is like your bestfriend since you were both a child?"

I look at Tegan with confusion. "What's the difference between the both?" Taas kilay kong tanong rito. Tegan just grin at my question.

"Trust me man, if you can't differentiate the difference of the two yet. I suggest to rein your horses first and stop pressuring yourself of marrying her just because everyone is expecting you two to get on with it."

I look at him with disbelief. "I though you said you're ain't a good adviser?"

Tegan smirk in return. "I ain't." He simply answer and take another glass from the table to drink it empty.

Napailing na lang ako habang ipinagpatuloy ang pagiinom. The night is still young and my plan is just to get wasted for tonight. I raised my glass a bit and take look at the sparkling liquid inside of it. Yup, it definitely sounds like a good plan!

I'm already on my 7th or maybe 8 glass when my attention by a sweet scent of a woman who takes the seat on my left side.

"What I can get you sweet miss?" The bartender asked to the newcomer.

"I'll have—."

"One tequila sunrise for the lady." Agaw ko sa sasabihin sana nito. The woman turn her eyes to look at me. I can't help but cursed internally as my eyes meet hers. And, right at that moment, the world stop moving around us. Her chocolate brown eyes meet mine, her cheeks is tinted with a subtle red color so as her lips.

"Um, hi?" Damn it! Even her voice sounds like an angel. "Thank you for the drink. " Alanganing wika ng babae.

I let out a friendly smile. "Your name would be a good barter in return." Wika ko rito.

"Oh, yah. You can call me Ezra." Pakilala nito saka iniabot ang kamay sa akin. I raise my eyebrow at her name. Now that sounds biblical.

"Linus." Sagot ko saka tinanggap ang palad nitong nakalahad. My large hand enclose hers firmly. I let out a smirk upon feeling the softness amd warmth of her hand against mine. It seems that hers perfectly match mine forever. I'm pretty sure I'll be enjoying this night.

"You look asian, what are you doing here in Vatican?" Tanong ko bago pawalan ang palad nito.

"Well, I'm actually travelling all over Europe to check out what it can offer. Besides, nothing can beat European architecture." She plainly answer as she take a small sip on her glass. An adventurous soul I see.

"That's cool. This is such a great place to explore and have fun. So how long are you planning in staying here?" Tanong ko rito.

"To be honest I am not really sure. I might stay for 3 days or a week but I cannot really decide yet." Nakangiting sagot nito habang unti unting inuubos alak na inorder ko para rito.

"I would love to tour you here myself if I can but I am really too occupied at the moment." Tumingin ako sa hawak kong baso saka iyon muling tinunggga.

Napansin ko ang bahagya nitong pagsimangot sa sinagot ko. “That’s too bad, I really want a handsome tourguide while staying here.”

Napailing na lang ako habang nangingiti sa sinabi nito. She really look lovely and her flirting with me is really not a good for both of us. “I can’t give you a tour tomorrow but if you want you can have me all by yourself for tonight?” Pabirong wika ko rito. She let out a small laugh at what I said.

“Are you sure about that? I’m kinda feeling bored now for travelling alone, a warm company is something that I am not going to decline.” Her smile is like a beautiful scenery that the more you look at it, the more you get drown for it. Oh god how come someone could be this beautiful? It should be illegal.

I stand up from my seat and offer her my hand. “Care to dance angel?” Tanong ko rito na agad naman niyang tinanggap. Tegan just give us a knowing look as he watched us walk towards the dance floor.

There is a part of my brain that’s warning me to stop and leave now but I guess I am too hard headed to listen. The night pass so quickly and as the night goes deeper and deeper.

We drowned ourselves in liquor until my head feels so numb to even think of anything. I don’t even remember what happened after we left that bar, everything feels so blurry and foggy for me to even get a hold of what’s happening around me. Though I can’t really remember majority of what happened that night, I can clearly remember her beautiful face as I make love to her full of passion. I remember how loud she shouts my name as I take her to the seventh heaven, her beautiful face drowned in worldly pleasure that I am giving to her. I can definitely remember how she became my sweet and beautiful angel.
